Confused as hell, I lean into the car, unbuckle the seat belt and try pulling him out. He fights against me, but the crash hurt his body so his fights are pretty much useless, so I'm able to get him out of the car and drop him to the ground.

He grunts in pain.

As I glance around at the rest of my friends, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one confused. We all expected to see Henry, but instead the asshole laying on the ground below me is none other than the jerk off obsessed with my girlfriend.

Kyle Collins, River's cousin.

"Kyle?" River calls, breaking the confused silence surrounding us.

Kyle coughs then spitting out a mouthful of blood before his eyes land on Veronica beside me. Growling, I step in front of her, blocking her from his view.

I am confused as hell right now! I thought this guy was in love with her? Why the fuck is he trying to kill her then? Has he been watching too many movies?

I've heard about guys stalking the girls they're in love with and even going as far as trying to kidnap them. Was that Kyle's plan here? Because I am so fucking confused yet so fucking angry at the same damn time!

"What the hell, Kyle?" Veronica demands, stepping out from behind me and coming to stand beside me instead.

"Yeah, dude, what the hell? Aren't you like, I don't know, in love with her or something?" Matt asks, sounding very confused but his clenched fists tell me he's still fucking angry too.

Same bro, same.

Kyle's face hardens as he turns to glare at me but I don't react. I just keep my face void of any emotion.

"It wasn't for her!" He growls, glaring at me. "I knew if I scared her enough she would call him." He spat and Veronica tenses beside me.

Oh, so he's been taking tips from Joe from You. Well, Joe would be very disappointed in you, buddy because you're going at it the wrong way, kid.

"I knew she would call all of you actually. I was supposed to scare her enough to go home-"

"Henry put you up to this, didn't he?" Mason growls but Kyle doesn't remove his eyes from me.

He glares hard at me so I fold my arms across my chest and raise a brow at him. If this guy thinks he can scare me away with my tail between my legs, then I'll gladly prove him wrong. A fight with him would just be embarrassing for him.

"Guys, could we sort this out at the house? I don't feel too good." River groans. I turn to look at him just in time to see Veronica rushing over to him and grabbing his face in her hands as she scans his face. She lets go and walks up to Mason, grabs the hem of his t-shirt and rips the bottom off, earning a glare from her brother.

Well it's not like she could rip River's t-shirt seeing as he isn't wearing one under his hoodie.

Veronica completely ignores him and walks back over to River and starts cleaning the blood from his face and around the cut across his temple. She pulls the material away again and balls it up before pressing it against the wound. River winces and she apologizes before telling him to keep it there.

River thanks her with an appreciative smile. Mason sends one powerful punch to Kyle, knocking the dude out with one blow and I wince as he falls to the ground. Matt and I help Mason carry Kyle and dump him on the backseat of his car.

I roll my head back, shutting my eyes as I let out a deep breath then scanning for Veronica. I find her standing where I left her with her hands clasped behind her neck and her head rolled back, her eyes closed.
