The next morning Veronica and I were, once again, woken up by the sound of knocking, but instead of two officers walking in, our parents came walking in with two excited seven year olds. Cole and Emily were the first ones to greet Veronica before Lynn rushed over to greet her daughter and apologize profusely for everything that happened before the trip.

Lynn felt worse then when she left, especially since the last thing she said to Veronica made her think the wrong twin survived that day in the alley. Despite this, Veronica forgave her mom, obviously. Lynn cried and apologized despite Veronica forgiving her.

When Lynn finally managed to pull away from her daughter, Ben stepped forward and hugged her tightly, not saying anything. I've never seen Ben cry so it was a little shocking to see him shed a few tears.

My mom on the other hand scolded Veronica for scaring her before hugging her. While mom and Veronica had their little moment, Ben came over to me and hugged me before thanking me for getting Veronica out of the car in time. I knew I was risking my life that day but I would do it again in a heartbeat if it meant saving her, and that's exactly what I told Ben and Lynn.

The three adults then told us about their little vacation, Cole and Emily jumping in every now and then to explain their parts too. It was relieving to know they actually enjoyed themselves despite everything that happened the day before and on the day they left.

I laughed at the stories they told us. Apparently Ben got them kicked out of a restaurant out of jealousy and punched a guy for flirting with his wife before kissing her in front of a group of guys that were mentally undressing her while Lynn threatened to throw someone with a chair.

The stories were shocking to hear but it made me wish I was there to witness all of it. I laughed so hard. I would have felt sorry for my mom for having to put up with it but it seemed like she enjoyed the entertainment it brought her, that and apparently she had guys flirting with her as well.

When I heard about the guys flirting with my mom, all amusement was wiped away and was replaced by fear. I was scared my mom was starting to give up on my dad and was thinking about wanting to move on.

My mom is gorgeous, and I'm not just saying that because she's my mom. Most of the fights I've gotten into were because of how guys would speak about my mom's body. She looked extremely young for her age and she doesn't look like she's a mother of two at all. Emily got her long blonde hair from my mom and while Emily and I got our blue eyes from my dad, my mom's eyes are hazel green.

My mom was a model back in high school and in college. It's how she met my dad actually. My dad's mom was a photographer and had a shoot scheduled with my mom, but my gran ended up getting sick and instead of canceling, my dad went and took care of it. The two didn't hit it off right away, they became friends before my dad asked her out on a date. He was shocked as hell when she said yes to the date.

I know my mom loves my dad, she always will, but it's been almost four years now. What if she's starting to lose hope? I can't say she never will because there was a time even I started losing hope. It's embarrassing to admit but it's true.

As always, Veronica knew exactly what was going on in my head so when our parents left, she called me over to the bed. I forced a smile as I sat down beside her and pulled her into my arms.

And then she called me out on it. I can never hide anything from her and I'm glad I can't because even when I don't want to admit that I'm hurt, she can see it and always knows how to make me feel better. I told her why I was scared and she didn't judge me at all. Instead, she reminded me that my parents love is too strong to forget. She's never met my dad before, well at least not when he was awake, but mom always speaks about him and I know Veronica could just see the love my mom has for my dad in her eyes.
