I always told myself that, despite how much I hate Andrea, I would always support her and River's relationship because River is one of my best friends, but now, now I'm starting to ask myself why even still bother trying to convince myself to support a relationship that's coming between four brothers.
When Matt, Owen and I left the Stone family house, we drove straight to Zayn's to pick him up. When we walked into the room, Zayn was sitting on his bed, FaceTiming Alyssa with Narla and Smokey, Zayn's two tiger cats, both sleeping on his bed beside him.
When we asked if he wanted to join us for basketball in the park, he grinned so wide before turning to Alyssa and instead of being a brat about it, she laughed and told him to go enjoy himself and that she'll call him tonight.
Now that is a relationship I will forever support.
While Zayn was getting ready, Matt called River and put the call on speaker phone to see if he wanted to join but, as we already guessed, he declined. As soon as he said he couldn't make it, Matt hung up without even bothering to say bye because we could both hear Andrea in the background.
That ruined my whole mood. I mean I love my girlfriend and love spending time with her. I would spend every second with her if I could, but I will never choose a girl over my friends, doesn't matter how much I love her and enjoy spending my time with her.
Veronica is the kind of girl that wouldn’t allow me to choose her over my friends anyway. While we make it a point to see each other everyday, even if it's just for a hour, if one of my friends call me and ask me to hang out while I'm with her, she'd be the one to tell me to go, assuring me she doesn't mind at all. Hell, while I'm in the shower she will get out my clothes for me before going downstairs and sitting with my mom and Emily.
But, I would always come over to her place at night and spend at least two hours with her again before going home.
Apparently River and Andrea don't do that because they practically live together.
As soon as we got to the park, Owen and Zayn both sent a message to the soccer group chat coach made and asked if anyone wanted to join us. Most of the team showed up. When the rest of the team asked about River I could tell it hurt Zayn and Matt. It hurt me too that he chose his girlfriend over his friends.
The guys and I spent about two and a half hours in the park playing basketball when suddenly Mason, Jake, Jason and a few of their friends showed up with a football in Jason's hands. When Mason spot us, he lead his group of friends over to us and we all somehow ended up playing football for a while before we started playing soccer.
Mason is no longer in the fancy clothes he had on this morning, instead he looks a lot more comfortable in his black shorts, white t-shirt and black vans. His hair lookd as if he just ran his fingers through it and ruffled it up a bit.
By then a few of the guys went home. Luckily for us Veronica leaves a soccer ball in everyone's cars as a 'just in case', including my own, so we grabbed the ball from my trunk to play some soccer.
For a famous football player, Mason sure as hell knows how to kick ass in soccer too. The guy is good, an actual challenge but it's what made the game so much more fun. We were shirts against skins and all the guys on my team were all shirtless, which is probably one of the reasons why our audience consists of mostly just girls.
Obviously the other reason being because Mason Stone is here.
It isn't until one of the guys let out a wolf whistle that we all pause to look what's got Aiden, one of Mason's teammates, suddenly so distracted. At the entrance of the park we see Veronica, Kate, Jordan and Alyssa all walking in, laughing at something someone said.
