Practice was as productive as every other day. We were getting closer to our second game of the season and everyone, including myself, was excited and, once again, both the girls and boys soccer team have a game on the exact same day. Just like last time, the girls will be playing after school while us boys play later the night.
We all decided to meet up at Veronica and Matt's place after practice. Ben texted Veronica informing her that Cole was currently at my place. Apparently, when Ben and mom arrived at school to pick up the two little ones, Cole begged his dad to let him go home with Emily. Ben ended up agreeing and said Veronica would pick him up after practice, forgetting his grounded daughter doesn't have a car at the moment.
Veronica ended up coming home with me while Zayn caught a lift home with Matt, who suggested Zayn could just freshen up there. Veronica stayed in the living room with mom, Emily and Cole while I jogged upstairs to shower and change into a fresh pair of sweatpants,a black t-shirt and white sneakers.

"Hey ma?" I call as I walk back down the stairs and into the living room where I find the four still sitting and conversing. "The guys and I are all meeting up at Veronica's place for a couple hours. We have a physics assignment to do, is that okay?" I ask and mom smiles with a nod.
"Of course, honey." She smiles. Three months ago, I wouldn't have asked permission, I would have just left without a word. Three months ago I probably wouldn't have come home first after practice. I would have just gone straight to one of my friend's places and just freshen up there.
It's amazing how the right person makes you want to be a better person. I mean I fucking asked Mason and Matt permission to date Veronica for crying out loud! I've never done that before!
"Do you need me to do anything before we leave?" I ask but mom shakes her head.
"It's okay, honey. Emily wants to bake cookies and I promised her we'd do that today."
"Save me some, 'kay Munchkin?" I grine down at my little sister who beams up at me.
"Only if they come out good." She chuckles. After greeting mom and Emily, Veronica, Cole and I all leave, but before going to their place, we make a quick stop at McDonalds, and damn did the two Stone siblings sitting in my car get excited.
We decide to eat in before going home because Cole and Veronica insists Mason and Matt would steal half of their food.
Walking into the Stone family house, we find Mason sitting on the couch watching football reruns.

Veronica sets her bag beside the couch and drops down on her eldest brother's lap and lean her back against his chest. Mason groans as he shifts so that they're both sitting comfortably, while Cole disappears up the stairs and I take a seat on the recliner.
