When Matt and Andrea said Veronica would be telling me everything, I didn't know what to expect, and I think it's safe to say that it's been all I could think about.

Thankfully, we didn't have practice after school, so after dropping Zayn off, I went straight home. I tried thinking of what's the worst she could tell me, but it still didn't make me feel any less prepared.

Ever since I've known her, her life isn't what it seems, I've wanted to learn more. I wanted to know more about her. I wanted to know the real her. Now that I'm actually about to learn what makes Veronica Stone, I'm scared as hell.

The look in Matt's eyes every time her past gets mentioned doesn't help with my anxiety.

"Honey, are you okay? You've been looking stressed ever since you came home?" Mom's voice nearly makes me jump.

I look over at her where she sits on the recliner and shake my head to try to snap out of it. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just have a lot on my mind." I sigh, running my hands down my face.

"Do you want to talk about it?" She asks and for a minute I consider saying yes, but the problem is I don't even know myself. How can I talk to mom about it if I don't even know what the hell myself.

I've been waiting for the day Veronica would trust me enough to tell me the truth, to tell me everything, but now that she does I'm fucking terrified.

What if she murdered someone?

Okay, maybe that's a bit extreme.

As much as I want to know everything, I hate Matt for telling me. If he didn't tell me then I wouldn't be in this situation. She could have told me tomorrow that she's ready to talk and then I wouldn't have time to freak out!

Urg!

"Honey?" Mom calls. Shit.

"I'm okay, mom." I breath out. "It's just school stress." I lie and push myself up from the couch. "I'm going to hit the gym. Just call if you need help making dinner." I force a smile and leave the living room. I climb the stairs two at a time and as soon as I reach my room I change into a shorts before heading down to the basement, not bothering to put on a t-shirt.

I haven't heard from Veronica since she left with Mason but I know what happened at school was way too much for her. I asked Matt how she was coming to school and he said her mom is allowing her to take her mom's car. I asked why not just take a ride with Matt but she's not staying for practice and she doesn't want to wait until we finish practice.

When I pull into my usual parking, a navy blue mini cooper pulls up beside me. Zayn and I both get out and eye the car and when we see the driver, our eyes widen. Veronica get out of the car and when she sees our shocked expressions she rolls her eyes causing me to laugh.

"I'm sorry, but after seeing you on the track with that Subaru, I didn't think I'd ever see you in. . ." I pause to look at the mini cooper and raise a brow. "That."

"Don't remind me. I cried for two hours last night. Not for what happened yesterday, but for my car! It's in the vehicle hospital!" She whines and folds her arms across her chest. "I miss it. I seriously considered stayed with it until it came home." She pouts cutely and the corners of my lips tug upwards. "When Jason's dad threatened me I flew out that door and into Mason's mustang." She groans and just by the mention of Jason, my whole mood drops.

"Jason's dad?" I ask trying to hide my annoyance.

"Yeah, he's a mechanic. Been fixing mine and Mason's cars since day one." She shrugs.
