Yesterday, when I tried visiting her, Mason answered the door with a look of pure anger mixed with hurt. When I asked him if I could see her, he told me she didn't want to see anyone, not even Cole. She just locked herself in her room all day and didn't even come out to eat.
I texted Matt but he said he would rather explain everything when he sees me again. I was restless the whole night, tossing and turning throughout the night. By the time I finally got some sleep, my alarm clock woke me up two hours later. I considered staying at home today, but I needed to see her. I needed to make sure she was okay.
First period I couldn't focus at all. I was silently begging the time to speed up so I could see her. Seeing as we were in the middle of a class lesson, Matt couldn't fill me in on what happened, meaning I had to wait until lunch hour.
When the bell rang for the second period, I was the first one out of my bio class and the first one in my English class, making me growl out in frustration. It felt like forever passed before she finally walked in through the door.
Veronica looked dead. She looked like someone sucked the life out of her. Her hair was loose just so she could hide her face. I felt myself breaking inside at her exhausted frame. She gave me a weak smile when she sat down and all I wanted to do was take her home and tuck her into bed. She had huge dark circles under her eyes, looking as if she hasn't slept in days when it was just yesterday that everything changed.
I kissed her cheek and that alone caused her eyes to tear up. Something serious happened and I need Matt to just tell me already!
"So?" I turn my focus to Matt.
It's currently lunch hour and the guys and I are all sat at our lunch table, waiting for the girls to show up. Looking at Matt now, he looks like he's in physical pain but I can see the anger and exhaustion in his eyes.
"She didn't tell me everything." Matt starts and I will myself to stay calm. I need to know everything if I wanna fucking fix this. "But she did say that Serena has something to do with it." Matt says, turning to Grayson.
Grayson's jaw clenches and he glares at his sister that's sitting at our old table. My blood starts boiling and my fists clench on the table.
"What did she do?" I ask Matt but my eyes are focused on a happy Serena laughing with her friends.
"She's holding something against Ronnie. Serena threatened her saying that if she and Andy doesn't stay away from us all including Mason, Kate, Jake and Jason, then she's telling the whole school her secret. She's telling the whole school about her past." Matt says and my head snaps in his direction. River looks pure angry. No doubt because his relationship was brought into this whole thing.
"Why do I have to stay away from my girlfriend?" River raises his brow
"Why do you think?" Matt snaps angrily.
"Is her past that bad?" I ask and the look on Matt's face tells me exactly how bad it is.
"Blake, it's not bad, it's horrible! Traumatizing, and the fact that Serena knows about it, is not a good thing at all! It explains why Ronnie was so sick yesterday. She threw up everything she ate last night." Matt says and my eyes zero in on Serena.
Just as I'm about to stand up and head her way, Veronica and Andrea both joins us at our table. Once again, Veronica's head is rested on the desk. When I look up at Andrea, she nods her head with a small, weak smile. I don't know what it means yet, but I'm hoping, praying, we're making progress.
Serena is watching us and we're all glaring at her. Andrea looks like she's about to attack Serena. Keeping my eyes locked on Serena, I place my palm flat on Veronica's back and start rubbing up and down. I can feel her body relaxing at my touch and so does my shoulders.
