So seeing my ex girlfriend definitely isn't how I saw this day going. Not only did I have to see the one person I could go the rest of my life never seeing again, but I also found out she's changed schools, still plays soccer and just happens to be the next school we'll be playing against.
My ex girlfriend and my current girlfriend playing against each other. Now that's something I wish would never happen.
I'm not scared of Tessa's school winning, because I know Tessa stands no chance against Veronica. I'm not just saying this because I hate the girl, but Veronica could take Tessa in a 1v1 game any day any time without training and her hands tied behind her back.
But Tessa is the kind of person that will do anything to win. She plays dirty. Tessa's goal in life is being the best, she wants to be known as the best, but I know for a fact that she doesn't stand a chance against Veronica. Or Andrea for that matter. Hell, I'm pretty sure she wouldn't stand a chance against Cole and Emily, which means Tessa will play dirty and knowing that I'm dating one of the players will just make her target choice a lot easier.
I just unintentionally put a target on my girlfriend's back for 90 minutes.
When Veronica and I arrive at her place, both her parents are cuddled up on the sofa, Cole nowhere to be seen. As Veronica leans down to kiss her mom and dad on their cheek, Matt's words start playing in my mind and I suddenly can't look Ben in the eyes.
As if he knows what's running through my head, he looks up at me, staring me dead in the eyes and I gulp. Ben seems to notice my nervousness because his lips suddenly tug up in a smirk.
"Wanna explain yourself?" Lynn asks, bringing my attention to her instead. I greet both Ben and Lynn before sitting down on the recliner while Veronica takes a seat on the arm of it.
She nods down at her mom. "I promise, I didn't plan on staying over. Blake and I thought since I didn't want to go to the party we could just chill at his place and watch movies. I ended up falling asleep. I swear that's the truth." Veronica breaths out and Lynn raises a brow at her.
"Why didn't you want to go to the party?" She asks, her brows raising skeptically.
"Because the guy that threw the part is Serena's twin brother. That and I didn't want to walk around on my already sore and swollen ankle."
"Did you two sleep in the same bed?" Lynn asks and Veronica sighs.
Yep, we did and I had the best fucking sleep ever!
"No mom. We didn't." Veronica lies and Lynn nods in relief. If only she knew her daughter was lying. Lynn's eyes roam over her daughter's body covered in my clothes, her brows raised.
Ben raises an amused brow at his daughter. "I like the outfit." He comments, smirking.
"Like I said, sleeping over wasn't the plan." Veronica sighs and Ben raises his hands in surrender.
"Hey, I didn't say anything. It's just, this isn't the first time I see you walking around in your boyfriend's clothes. Remember the black t-shirt Matt 'spat milk' on?" Ben asks, using his fingers to make quotation marks and both mine and Veronica's cheeks turn a scarlet red.
Seriously Ben? Seriously?
"Daddy!" Veronica whines, covering her face with both her hands. "I still can't believe that was the first thing you thought of when you saw! I still can't look at you properly without thinking about that incident!" She groans and Ben starts laughing, winking when he catches my eye and I quickly look away.
Ben!
"I'm going to pack for Andy's tonight!" Veronica rushes out and quickly pushes herself up and speed walks out of the living room with me trailing behind her, desperate to get away from her father.
