Pax

I came downstairs and opened the front door as a guy stood there holding flowers.

"Are you Paxton Gray?" The guy asked me.

"Yeah," I answered, looking at the guy strangely.

"These are for you," the guy said, handing me the flowers, then leaving.

"Uh, thanks," I mumbled, closing the door. I pulled a card out and read it.

Payton walked into the living room. "Who are the flowers for?" He asked me.

"Shaun sent me flowers," I said, handing the flowers to Payton and going into the kitchen.

Parker came downstairs and saw Payton holding the flowers. "Delicate flowers," Parker commented.

"Shaun sent flowers to Pax," Payton said as Parker looked at Payton.

It will take more than flowers to show me that Shaun is serious. I doubted Shaun for a good reason. Every time I open myself up, I get kicked in the teeth. Yeah, that won't happen.

The next day, I opened the door and found a giant stuff teddy bear sitting there with a note attached to its neck. I dragged the stuffed bear into the house and tripped on it, falling on top of the bear.

Parker walked past me. "I'm sure Shaun will prefer you to lie on him," Parker said.

I looked up at Parker and rolled my eyes. He went into the kitchen as I got off the teddy bear and stood there.

Patton came downstairs and saw the giant bear lying on the floor.

"Shaun?" Pat asked.

"Who else?" I answered.

Pat laughed, and I sighed.

I walked to the bakery to start my shift when a clown stopped me. What the fuck?

I tried to move around the clown, and he kept stopping me. That made me annoyed as he held up his hand, then handed me a bunch of balloons. I took the bundle, and the damn clown squirted me in the face with water, using a flower on his lapel.

I decked the clown and released the balloons. First, I hate clowns, and second, he had it coming.

Mason and Kaxon saw the clown lying on the ground out cold, then noticed the balloons floating away in the air.

"Paxton had a run-in with a clown," Kaxon mentioned.

"Shaun might want to change tactics since Pax hates clowns," Mason reasoned as Kaxon nodded.

I walked into the bakery as I saw Britt working. Good, Shaun wasn't here. I went into the back and put on an apron as I got organized.

"Here, this is for you," Britt said, handing me a box.

I looked at Britt strangely and opened the box. Inside I found a cupcake and a note, then set it down and opened the letter: The Gray Brother's Bakery.

I set the note down and picked up the cupcake, taking a bite, realizing it came from our bakery. Pops make specialize cupcakes for me since I have an allergy and can't eat certain foods. That's why I eat nothing from Kate and Frazier's sweet shop.

I set the cupcake and swallowed the bite in my mouth. "When did this come?" I asked Britt.

"Yesterday. Shaun said you couldn't eat anything in the bakery because you have a gluten allergy. He called your parents and asked for a cupcake for you," Britt told me.

Aside from my family, the only person I told about my allergy is Shaun.

"I know you have reservations with Shaun, but last year was rough for him. We watched how Travis tore him down and abused him. Shaun wouldn't let anyone touch him and kept to himself," Britt explained.
