Pat
Uncle Nixon called Kaxon, who brought Jesse and Skylar along with Mason. Britt called Nora. You can see where this is heading.
"Grandpa? What are you doing here? Wait. Why do I see double?" Kaxon asked, pointing at Britt and Sam.
"Because that's Britt and her brother Sam," Nixon answered.
"Say what?" Kaxon asked, surprised.
"Pay attention, or you won't be my favorite grandchild," Nixon remarked.
"I'm your only grandchild," Kaxon reminded Nixon.
"Semantics," Nixon said, shrugging.
Nora walked over and hugged Sam and Britt, then sat down next to Sam.
"Now it seems we have a slight issue. Britt disguised herself as Sam, and Sam is attending school. We need to keep Britt hidden, and she needs help with financial aid," Nixon explained.
Kaxon rolled his eyes, earning a look from Nixon.
"So, you thought you would use me to get to Jesse?" Kaxon questioned.
"You make it sound devious," Nixon said.
"Well, it is and not cool, old man," Kaxon remarked.
"I'll show you, old man," Nixon huffed.
"That still doesn't explain this whole situation and why there are two Sam's sitting on the couch," Kaxon mentioned.
"Allow me to explain. Now pay attention," Nixon told the others as he explained the whole situation.
"So, Nora knew about all this? Why doesn't that surprise me?" Mason questioned with a tone we knew too well.
Nora looked at Mason and furrowed her brows.
"Mason, this isn't the time," Pax said.
"Why? Because Nora isn't honest about things?" Mason asked with sarcasm.
"Mason," Kaxon said.
"No, I'm sick of people defending someone who lies all the time," Mason told Kaxon. He looked at Nora. "Isn't there a time that you don't lie?"
"Dude, what the hell is your problem?" Pax asked Mason as I sat on the couch with the others.
"It's the fact that Nora knew and didn't bother to tell anyone. Nora knows a lot of things that she isn't forthcoming with Pax," Mason snapped.
"That's enough," Nixon ordered Mason, who shut his mouth.
"Excuse me," Nora said, getting up and leaving.
"I'll go after her," Britt offered.
"No, let me," Sam said, leaving as we looked at Mason.
Nora
I left the house and walked back to my dorm room as tears fell down my cheeks. I wiped my cheeks feverishly. I didn't hear Sam yelling as I kept walking until he caught up with me.
"Nora," Sam said, stopping me.
I turned to Sam. "Everything's screwed up, and Dad is making things worse. You don't know how it felt when Britt left this summer, leaving me alone," I said as Sam furrowed his brows.
I looked at Sam. "I had to listen to Dad berate me for my poor life choices with the people I hang out in my life. I had no one to protect me while I dealt with Dad's tirade. He wouldn't let me leave and told me if he found out I went near the Gray family, he would cut me off," I told Sam as the others found us.
