Knowing that Shaun's family is fighting the charges didn't help with my anxiety. The situation escalated. Shaun did what he could to help me, and Jaime worked at handling the legalities of it all. It would take an unsuspecting ally to help me.
I was up in my room with Shaun, tearing my room apart looking for items I couldn't find. Payton and Parker were in class as Pat stood in the doorway. I didn't know Kaxon came over to the house.
"What's up with Pax?" Kaxon asked.
"His anxiety is kicking in because of this mess with Sable," Pat answered.
"Wasn't this the same girl that threw Parker under the bus at homecoming when she broadcasted their sexcapades at homecoming one year?" Kaxon questioned.
"Yeah, but both were under eighteen," Pat reminded Kaxon.
"It doesn't matter," Kaxon said.
"How so?" Pat questioned.
"Because any sexual broadcast involving a minor, that's detrimental to say minor's health is illegal in Michigan. It's what the law refers to as child pornography," Kaxon explained.
"According to Pops, Jaime is working on the legalities of it. Sable probably destroyed the evidence, which doesn't help our situation. They can nail Tristan on it, but Sable claims she knows nothing about it," Pat told Kaxon.
"You help Pax, and I got a plan," Kaxon said, leaving.
"Where are you going?" Pat yelled.
"To call in a favor! If I'm getting roped into marrying someone I barely know, then they can give me a wedding gift," Kaxon yelled back.
"Married? When did Kaxon get engaged?" Pat mumbled.
Kaxon
I left the house and went on a scavenger hunt, which isn't a real one, considering the person I'm looking for is at a well-known bakery. I hurried to the bakery to find Jesse sitting at a table, drinking coffee, and looking through her phone.
"How is it every time I find you, you're alone?" I asked, sitting down at a table. I looked at Britt. "Get me a coffee."
"What do I look like?" Britt asked me.
"Well, you look like you work here unless they're paying you to dodge my cousin," I mentioned.
"Come get your damn coffee at the counter," Britt huffed.
"I'm offended. You lack customer service skills," I retorted.
"Bite me, tool," Britt said.
"I think someone else would prefer to bite you," I retorted. Britt clamped her mouth shut. I figure that would shut her up.
I turned to Jesse, who looked at me like I was crazy.
"It's difficult to find wonderful help nowadays. People lack customer service skills," I remarked.
Jesse chuckled.
"So, I will get to the point, since you told your dad that I'm your future husband. I need a favor," I mentioned.
"How is telling my father that I claim you entitle you to a favor?" Jesse asked me.
"Because I'm special," I answered.
"Oh, you're special, all right. There's a bus coming this way for you to catch," Jesse retorted.
"Cute," I said.
"Yes, we knew this, but continue," Jesse said.
"There's a situation with my cousin Pax," I said, then explained the situation to Jesse. She listened as I told her everything about Sable and Tristan. "I know your family owns this school and wondered if they could help?"
