Christmas with the family, part two

Christmas is a time of happiness and joy unless a cousin screws it up and sends my girl's sister packing. Markus informed us that he told Matthew about Nora and Mason. That leads to dysfunction at its best.

Matthew went to our grandparents to talk to Nora but found her gone.

"She left," Sam said as Matthew stood in the bedroom that Britt is staying in.

Matthew turned and looked at Sam. "What?" Matthew asked.

"My sister left. You must be Matthew," Sam mentioned.

Matthew looked at Sam as Grandpa and Nana watched. Sam walked towards Matthew.

"Nora told me about you. I'm surprised that someone could capture my sister's heart how you did," Sam told Matthew.

"Nora's special," Matthew said.

"Yeah, she is, and she didn't deserve to get her heart broke. I watched my dad treat Nora and Britt terribly. I made the mistake of leaving, but I refuse to make the same mistake again," Sam told Matthew.

"I thought if I left, it would help Mason and Nora," Matthew reasoned.

"Did you leave to help them or run away from a situation?" Sam questioned.

Matthew looked at Sam.

"If you care about my sister, then make her happy, but give her time," Sam reasoned.

"I thought we would have world war three happening?" Grandpa whispered to Nana.

Nana shrugged.

"I don't know you, and I'm not my family, but I love my sisters. I want my sisters happy," Sam explained.

Matthew nodded as he turned and left. He came downstairs as we watched him.

"Matthew," Payton said, grabbing Matthew's arm.

"I should have listened to everyone," Matthew said as he pulled his arm away and left.

I looked at Britt, and she looked at me. Would Matthew and Nora ever connect? We didn't know.

"Look, it's Christmas time, and there's plenty of time to deal with a love crisis later," Grammy told everyone.

"Grammy, what about Matthew?" Markus asked.

Grammy walked over to Markus. "If I learned anything from Lucille, sometimes you need to help people along. You and Mason are to make that happen," Grammy told Markus and Mason.

"Why us?" Mason questioned.

"Because you acted like a king-size tool. You remind me of your parents," Grammy told Mason. She looked at Markus. "You are closest to Matthew. Now, chop, chop," Grammy ordered, clapping her hands.

Markus and Mason left to hunt Matthew down.

Grammy looked at us. "You boys help your cousins and retrieve the runaway," Grammy ordered.

We groaned.

"How the hell do we find this chick?" Pax asked.

"Nora's with Skylar," Kaxon answered, walking past us.

"Thank you, peanut gallery," Parker remarked.

Kaxon flipped off Parker as Kain smacked Kaxon upside the head.

"No way will Nora come willingly," I informed my brothers.

"Then I suggest the Gray way," Nixon mentioned.
