Pax

We return to school after the holidays. As much as I like seeing family, it's good to get back to school. Pops taught me how to cook some food, and Payton told me he would teach me more at school. That's when he isn't sucking face with Josie.

I came out of class, and someone ran, picking me off the ground. That caused me to drop my books as the person set me down. I turned to see Shaun with a shit-eating grin on his face.

"Man, you made me drop my books," I said, picking up my books.

"It's not my fault you're small," Shaun mentioned.

I stood up with my books and shook my head.

"You're a nut," I said.

"Yeah, but it's nice to be playful," Shaun mentioned as I gave him a look. "Do you have another class?"

"Yeah, then work," I answered.

"How about after work, we hang out?" Shaun asked.

"Sounds like a plan," I replied as Shaun kissed me, then walked away. My boyfriend is a nut. I shook my head and chuckled as I went to class.

While Pax was busy, I picked up a few things for tonight. I picked up food and dessert, then found some movies online. I ran into Markus at the store.

"It looks like someone has a romantic evening planned," Markus mentioned, looking in my handbasket.

"Yeah, I wanted to plan a special night with Pax," I mentioned.

"Then you may want these," Markus said, tossing a box into my basket. I picked up the package. "Never forget your raincoat."

I shook my head and put the box back on the shelf. "No offense, but we're not at that point," I said.

"Suit yourself," Markus said while shrugging.

Parker found us in the store's aisle and noticed that we're standing next to the boxes.

"Dare I ask why you're standing next to raincoats?" Parker asked.

"I was cutting through aisles, picking up items for tonight," I answered.

"Uh, huh," Parker said.

"I told Shaun to make sure he had some. Did he listen to me? Nope," Markus said.

"Listen, for the last time, I'm not having sex," I announced as everyone looked at me.

"Are you sure about that?" Markus asked me.

"What? Haven't you seen two gay guys discuss safe sex?" Parker asked the other customers.

I facepalmed myself. The manager kicked us out of the store. My plans were blowing up in my face, thanks to ying and yang.

After class, I went to work. The bakery was busier since everyone returned. Britt, Nik, and I waited on the customers. When it slowed down a little, Frazier motioned me to the kitchen. I went to the back to find out what he wanted.

"Is everything okay?" I questioned, not sure of the answer I would get.

"Yeah, but a little birdie told me that you wanted to learn how to bake. The same birdie said you have a gluten allergy, which makes it difficult to find items that taste decent without gluten," Frazier answered.

"My family learned how to cook special foods for me when the doctor diagnosed me. My grandpa tailored baked goods around my allergy so that I could have a cake on my birthday. Most places serve gluten-free food, but I'm picky about what I eat," I explained.
