Pax

The medication started working finally. I didn't feel anxious, and everything became more transparent. Dr. Shaw helped me realize that my anxiety affected my temper. It was good to have control over my life again.

Shaun was working with me today at the bakery when Kaxon and Mason showed up.

"What are you doing here?" I asked my cousins.

"We come bearing good news and tidings," Kaxon answered. I looked at Kaxon weird. "Your probation is no more." Kaxon grinned. Mason rolled his eyes. I shook my head.

"What did you do?" I asked.

"Well, I chatted with a girl who agreed to a date," Kaxon mentioned. That shocked us. "She talked to her grandpa, who talked to her uncle, and they talked to the Dean. Her family owns most of the school," Kaxon explained.

"So, you used the girl to help yourself and me," I mentioned.

"No, I asked the girl to help. The date is a bonus since we both dislike people and have high standards. Plus, the girl is nothing like the girls here, thank God," Kaxon said.

Mason and I chuckled.

"How are you feeling, Pax?" Mason asked me.

"Better. I don't feel angry or out of control anymore," I answered.

"Yeah, we heard you drove your brothers up the wall," Mason said.

I felt someone wrapped their arm around me and turned to see Shaun next to me.

"I had help," I said, looking at Shaun, who smiled at me.

"What did you guys need?" Shaun asked Mason and Kaxon.

"Coffee and muffins," Kaxon answered.

"Two coffees and muffins are coming up," Shaun said, retrieving the order.

I talked to the guys while Shaun got the order. It felt nice to laugh again.

While we were at the bakery, Matthew avoided a particular girl.

"How long are you planning to avoid this girl?" Markus asked Matthew as they walked to class.

"I'm not avoiding it. I'm keeping my distance," Matthew responded.

As Matthew said as a particular girl walked over to him.

"Hey, Matthew," Nora greeted Matthew.

"So much for keeping your distance," Markus whispered, earning a look from Matthew.

"So, I haven't seen you since I got here," Nora mentioned.

"Yeah, my courses keep me busy," Matthew mentioned.

"Well, perhaps we can have coffee," Nora suggested.

Before Matthew answered, Mason walked up.

"Hey, babe," Mason said, putting his arm around Nora and kissing the side of her head.

"Hey," Nora said.

"I brought breakfast," Mason said, handing Nora a coffee.

"Thanks," Nora said, taking the container.

"What are we discussing?" Mason asked, sipping his coffee.

"Coffee," Markus said and smirking.

Nora sipped her coffee as Matthew shook his head.

"We need to get to class," Matthew said, dragging Markus away, leaving Mason and Nora standing there.

Once Matthew and Markus were out of sight, Matthew stopped.
