We returned home with Grammy. I'm not a big fan of funerals, but I understand why you have one. Funerals give people a chance to find closure. It doesn't make the person feel better but lets them say goodbye.

We got home and hugged Ma. Pops was at Grandpa and Nana's house, helping them get ready for the family to stay with our grandparents. I hope I never attend a funeral for a long time, but I feel that it will dash that hope.

I walked into the house to find Nate and Cayson on the couch, talking. I walked over and kissed Nate. He kissed me back, then whispered in my ear, "Don't you leave me, Betty Crocker."

I pulled back and smiled. "Grease, Monkey, I plan to stick around for a long time," I whispered, then winked.

"Jonas is planning with Jace and Jamie to bring Karen home," Cayson informed me.

"Those boys must be so heartbroken," I said, sitting down on the coffee table.

"It's the same way when we lost Ma," Cayson said.

"Okay, the rooms are ready," Nash mentioned, coming downstairs with Maggie and Lex.

"What did your brothers say?" I asked Nash.

"Jonas and Jace, along with Jace's family, are staying here with the girls and husbands. Jaime and his family are staying with Nixon and along with Frick and Frack. The triplets are staying with Nathan and Noah. Nolan is taking in stragglers," Nash answered.

"Nashville, those stragglers who you're calling is family," I told Nash.

"Ma, this family has more strays than we can count," Nash said.

I rolled my eyes: my son, the comedian. I swear Nixon is rubbing off on Nash. A few minutes later, Nixon came in with Kat.

"Don't you have a home?" Nash asked Nixon.

"Why, yes, I do, and it's a lovely home," Nixon answered sarcastically.

I swear my boys are something else.

"When are the strays coming into town?" Nixon asked.

Nash chuckled as I shook my head while Nate and Cayson chuckled.

"You got to love family," Cayson remarked.

"That's debatable," Nate said.

I looked at Nixon and Nash. "I want you both to pick up your Uncle Jonas," I said.

"Why us?" Nixon questioned.

"Because I said so, and Nixon Richard don't argue with me. I'm not in the mood for your shenanigans," I answered with a look. Nixon groaned.

Nash chuckled. "Ma called you by your first and middle name," Nash snickered.

"That goes for you too, Nashville Nathaniel," I told Nash. Nash rolled his eyes as Nixon laughed. Nash and Nixon left to check on the grandkids.

"Those boys never changed," Nate sighed.

"Neither did you and your brothers," I reminded Nate.

"That is true. We're still the lovable people we have always been," Cayson said.

"That's debatable," I replied as Cayson rolled his eyes.

It would be a long few days with everyone returning for the funeral. I know most of the family didn't like Karen, but Jonas loved her. People need to remember that every relationship is different and what happens between a couple is their business.
