Sam
It's been a few days since the bakery fiasco. While I figured out a different avenue with Patton, I didn't know someone is coming to school because a particular girl didn't tell me. It didn't help that I got stuck working with Paxton.
I waited on customers as Paxton hassled me. I didn't need this shit. I grabbed an order as Paxton stood in my way.
"Get out of my way, dingleberry," I ordered.
"Why? Does it involve my nuts?" Paxton asked.
"You deserved that," I replied.
"No guy deserves slammed in the nuts, you half-wit," Paxton retorted.
"Maybe if you weren't a freak of nature, your nuts would stay intact," I said, smirking.
"Give me one good reason not to toss you over this counter," Paxton warned.
"Hey," someone whispered, getting my attention.
"Hold that thought or better yet, don't," I told Paxton as I went to the counter. "What?" I asked the person.
"We have a slight problem," Nora told me.
A few minutes later, my eyes widened as someone walked into the bakery, carrying a bag.
I leaned in and whispered, "What's he doing here?"
"Going to college," Nora asked as I facepalmed myself. I glanced to see Paxton glaring at me. I had to get out of here and switch spots.
I turned around and strolled over to Paxton. "Paxton, buddy, amigo, pal," I said.
Paxton looked annoyed.
"I have to leave," I said.
"Why?" Paxton asked with an annoyed look.
"I have a family emergency. So, bye," I said, hurrying through the kitchen area and out the back foot. I looked in each direction and took off running to the dorm.
Nora
I turned and walked over to the guy. He looked at me.
"Hey," I greeted the guy, smiling.
"Hey," the guy said. "Where's Britt?" The guy asked.
"Oh, you know, here and there," I answered.
The guy looked at me, suspiciously. I glanced to see Paxton walking towards us. Well, shit. I turned the guy around and pushed him towards the door.
"Nora!" The guy yelled.
"No time to chitchat," I said as I shoved the guy to the door.
"Wait a minute," Pax yelled, stopping us. "I thought you had a family emergency," Pax mentioned to the guy.
"What a family emergency?" The guy asked.
"The one you had a few minutes ago, and why are you wearing different clothes?" Pax questioned, gesturing at the guy's attire.
"I don't know what you mean, but I just got here," the guy said.
"What?" Pax asked.
"That is enough chitchat. Let's go," I said, pushing the guy out of the bakery, leaving Pax confused.
The guy stopped and looked at me. "Nora, what is going on?" He asked.
"Who says anything is going on?" I asked.
The guy looked at me strangely as I dragged him away from the bakery.
Pat
I worked on an assignment when Pax came home. He looked confused.
