We have to fix a mess that we created. Presley wasn't talking to any of us after what happened. We also filled in Markus, Kaxon, and Mason on what happened and the truth.

"Damn," Mason said as we sat there at the bakery.

"It's not like we knew everything. Look at how Presley acted," Kaxon reasoned.

"Yeah, but it didn't give us the right to interfere," I said.

We sat there and sighed. Yep, we're tools.

I saw Eliza in the hallway at school and walked over to her casually.

"Hey," I greeted Eliza.

"Hey," Eliza said.

"Are you okay?" I asked.

Eliza nodded.

"Did you want to have coffee with me?" I asked.

Eliza looked at me and furrowed her brows.

"You don't have to if you don't want," I mentioned.

"I guess coffee is okay," Eliza said as we went to a coffee shop.

We ordered two coffees, and I paid for it. Eliza refused me to buy her coffee, but I reassured her that it was okay. She relented, and we found a table.

"So," Eliza said.

"I'm sorry about what happened," I mentioned, sipping my coffee.

Eliza looked at me.

"I thought if I kept people from making comments, it would help," I explained.

"So, you weren't looking for another girl?" Eliza questioned.

"No," I admitted.

I watched Eliza's expression change.

"I wanted you to hang out with the girls so that you had friends, and people didn't harass you when I wasn't around you. I knew that you distrusted people after Randy," I reasoned.

Eliza looked at me.

"I thought you tired of helping me and looked around for someone with confidence," Eliza said.

"Why would you say that?" I asked.

"Because who wants to keep reassuring someone constantly? It's not like I'm pretty or thin. I know people talk about me. You told me to block it out, but it's difficult when you hear people say that you're clingy," Eliza answered.

"But you're none of that, and I don't care what people say. You're more than that to me," I reasoned.

Eliza looked at me.

"I know I made mistakes with you, but I worried that you would walk away from me because I wasn't good enough for you," I admitted.

Eliza looked at me in awe.

"When you carry the last name Gray, it's a lot to live up to with people. If I dated a lot, it would make me stand out from my brothers, but all it did was show me how lonely it is. When we started talking, I could be myself around you. You didn't care if I was imperfect. You cared about me," I confessed.

I looked at Eliza. All I wanted was my girl back. I missed holding her hand and laughing.

"I won't push you. All I want is your friendship. If you meet someone, I hope the guy makes you happy," I said truthfully.

Thanks to my family, I lost the one good thing in my life all because they didn't talk to me. Now I hoped to salvage my friendship with Eliza.
