Spring break follies

After the party, we didn't see Britt or Nora. Selena and Josie told us that their dad visited them, threatening Britt and Nora. That guy is a tool.

We were going to Myrtle Beach for spring break without Britt and Nora. It sucked that Britt couldn't come with Pat, but it's best if Nora didn't come because of Mason.

I like Nora, but family is family. Mason's nursing a broken heart, and the last thing we needed is drama. I had enough to last me a lifetime this year. I wanted to let loose and have fun with my family and Shaun.

It seems Kaxon invited his girl and her sister. Eh, more, the merrier, plus it will keep Kaxon busy. Pops called to make sure we have everything and would see us at the beach house. You didn't think our parents would let us run amuck, did you? Plus, they were bringing Presley and his girlfriend. Yeah, that shocked us, too.

We packed up the cars as Parker took roll call. My brother is an ass. We got into the vehicles and made our way to Myrtle Beach. It took over fifteen hours because of stops for bathroom breaks and food to reach Myrtle Beach.

Once we arrived, we grabbed our bags and went into the beach house as Pops and Ma met us at the door.

"What took you so long?" Pops questioned.

"Ask penny pees a lot," I answered, pointing at Parker, who rolled his eyes.

Then someone crashed into Pat and me, knocking us down on the floor. We looked to see Presley on top of us. Payton and Parker laughed as we shoved Presley off us.

"Nothing like brotherly love to welcome you. I'm glad I don't have siblings," Markus said, walking past us.

"Damn, Presley, you make the twins look like dolls," Kaxon mentioned as we got up.

"It's not my fault that Pat and Pax quit growing," Presley said, shrugging.

Mason walked past everyone, not saying anything.

"Is Mason still upset?" Pops asked.

"Yeah, It's hard to know that someone chooses your cousin over you," Parker answered.

We looked at Markus.

"Why are you looking at me? I'm not into chicks," Markus mentioned as he gestured to Hayden.

"Look, let's not spoil this vacation with issues and have fun," Ma suggested.

We kissed Ma on the cheek and went to our rooms. Pat and I shared a bedroom as we did in utero. The others shared a room with someone, and no, we didn't share a room with our significant others. That was no with our parents.

After getting settled, we went out back and hung out. I sat in a chair on the deck next to Shaun as the others joined us. Mason went off on his own.

Mason

Last year, I had hope. This year my hopes faded. I kicked the sand with my barefoot as I walked along the shoreline. Ma and Dad said to give it time, but I gave it a lot of time when they moved me to Timbuktu.

High school sucked during my junior and senior year since I went to a new school. I didn't have Pat, Pax, or Kaxon. Since we moved towards the end of my sophomore year, I adjusted to new people who didn't welcome you.

I stopped and looked at the water.

"The ocean is peaceful, isn't it?" Uncle Lex asked, standing next to me.

"The only peaceful thing in my life," I mumbled.

"I know you're hurting now, but it won't stay that way," Lex mentioned.
