Ice Cream (The Maximoff Twins)

Fluff, as requested by jruecker22. Pre-HYDRA. The twins are thirteen. The song that appears in this chapter is Seamless by Sabrina Carpenter. It's a really good song, I suggest you listen to it.

"Thank you," Pietro said, giving the man a smile as he took the vanilla ice cream cones. He walked over to the bench where Wanda was sitting. Her guitar was on her lap, and she strummed it quietly.

Pietro, recognizing the tune, quickly sang as loudly as he could, "Hey, sister! Know the water's sweet, but blood is thicker! And oh- OW!" Wanda had stopped playing and nailed him in the head with her book.

The passerby all laughed.

Pietro frowned, and sat down. "You don't get an ice cream, meanie."

Wanda gasped. "You wouldn't!"

"Oh, but I would." He quickly licked both cones.

She frowned. "That's not fair!"

"Hey, I paid for them," Pietro pointed out.

"With the money you probably stole."

"I don't like the word STEAL. I prefer 'earned because they weren't paying enough attention to their wallets.'"

Wanda rolled her eyes and snatched a cone from his hand, licking it.

"HEY! Who's the thief now?"

"Me!" She said with a mischievous grin.

He rolled his eyes, taking another lick of his ice cream. The sweet treat was a luxury the twins could rarely afford. The twins finished their cones, bickering all the while.

Wanda picked her guitar back up when she was done. She started strumming again. Currently, that's how they were making money. She started singing softly.

"Good morning, you're leaving. I'll see you in the evening. My best friend till the end. My better half, no pretend.

"Our language is sacred. Though people try to solve it. New adventures on the way."

"You and me together," Pietro joined her. "Take on the world forever. I know all your secrets. And I promise you I'm gonna keep them.

"I'll be there when you are feeling clueless. You and me, oh yeah we're seamless.

"Woah oh, yeah, woah oh.

"We're klutzy, but so lucky. That I always have you to catch me. We're partners in crime. You're stuck with me your whole life.

"So different, out of our minds. From a planet that's hard to find. Every second every day."

"I'll be there when you are feeling clueless. You and me, oh yeah we're seamless.

"You're right by my side whenever I need you. Through the hardest times, I'll be there for you. At the crack of dawn, when the moon is gone. I won't be hard to find.

"You and me together. Take on the world forever. I know all your secrets. And I promise you I'm gonna keep them

There was some scattered applause and some money was dropped into Wanda's guitar case. She smiled, and thanked them. One little boy, Costel, dropped a few cents in, looking proud of himself. That was probably all his pocket change. "That was weally good, Pieto and Wandy," He told them.

"Thanks, Costel," Wanda said with a smile.

Pietro grinned and winked at the boy's pretty older sister, Zrinka.

Zrinka scoffed, rolling her eyes. She was familiar with Pietro's antics. "C'mon, Costel. Time to go home. And you really were great, Wanda."

"What about me?" Pietro pouted.

"You were ok." She walked away.

Wanda snickered. "You made the right choice, Zrinka!" She called.

Pietro shoved her.

Wanda just laughed again and snuggled him. Pietro sighed, wrapping his arm around her shoulders. "I spoil you, princezna." (Princess)

"You do," Wanda agreed. "Best brother ever. Even if you are annoying."

"Back atcha."

"Thanks for the ice cream, bratr." (Brother)

"You're welcome, you little zloděj." (Thief)

Wanda giggled, and they both drifted off to sleep, not caring that they were still on the bench. There were enough people around that they trusted wouldn't let them get hurt.

The people of Sokovia were like a family, for the most part. They watched each other's backs. The twins were certain that they could get in a nap with no ill effects. And they were right. The other people in the marketplace kept a close eye on the sleeping Maximoffs, keeping them safe from harm.
