I close my eyes and go to my safe space, when my eyes open again it's not the lake. No moonlight glistening off the calm water or small pebbles surrounding the log I place myself upon. Instead I'm in a clearing in the forest, ontop of a small army shelter on the top of a hill. My legs dangled off looking out to the hills that roll before me. Flowers and bushes cover the steep climb up the hill, colours of purple, orange and red bright up this haven. The sun setting behind me, leaving shadows on the trees as they drift off to sleep. The tops of sky scrapers in the distance, merely there silhouettes visible to me. I'm in my big grey hoodie, keeping myself warm yet it's still cold.

Although this isn't what I'm used to it feels the same. It feels the exact same. If not better. I stare out at the trees, all different shapes and sizes. I hear the sweet sound of a girl, someone new, unfamiliar. It's weirdly comforting. I'm not trapped in the cycle anymore. My head tilts as my neck gets tired. My breathing steady as the thin air brushes the hair on the back of my head. This is a new chapter. A new person, a new safe space. I'm turning a page. Seeing my story through.
