Dad: hey, it's a great story for your kids one day right?
Me, a closeted ace: ....I don't want kids??
Mom: What a good memory for my wedding speech!
Me, planning on living by myself or with a friend(s) for the rest of my life: .....I don't want to get married??
Dad: so, got any boyfriends?
Me: nope.
Dad: any girlfriends?
Me: girls are pretty, but no.
Dad: okay....?
Mom: got any crushes?
Me: I'm just not really interested in people.
Mom: no boys? ...... Or girls?
Me: I'm just..... not..... into people.
Mom's parents: so, breaking any hearts?
Me: how do I say this.... I'm not interested in a relationship right now?
Nana: any good books you've read recently?
Me: *has a good book talk with her*
And that is why I enjoy talking with my nana more than my other family members, because she gets that I'm not interested in people right now (she doesn't know that I'm ace but I think I may come out to her when I'm a year or two older).
Of course, due to Covid I haven't been able to see her as much this year and I really miss talking to her.
