Chapter 157

He woke with a jolt. He looked around and saw Addalin passed out on his chest and Scott holding them, sleeping.

He reached up and poked Scott.

Scott woke up instantly. "Hey." He said.

"What happened?" Hunter asked.

"Baby." Scott said. "Do you remember anything?"

Hunter nodded as tears filled his eyes. He thought it was just a really bad dream, but Scott's tone told him it wasn't.

"Are they still here?" He sniffled.

Scott nodded. "Avi came back a while ago and said they were staying for donner. Nel insisted."

Hunter nodded.

The only reason he was here, was because Mitch was shutting down. He could handle all of his emotions and he was crashing, so Hunter came forward.

"Scott." Hunter said, sniffling.

"Hmm?"

"It's Hunter."

"Hunter? Why?"

"Mitch was crashing, I had to help him."

"Crashing?"

"He couldn't handle everything and he was so close to breaking." Hunter started crying. He loved Mitch so much, it was hard to watch and not do anything. "I had to help him." He whimpered out, silently sobbing.

The scent of sadness woke Addalin from her sleep. She used her arms as a brace when she lifted her head to look at Hunter.

She wiggled up so she was closer to him and put her hands on his face.

"Momma?" She said with a smile.

Hunter blinked.

Addalin giggled and kicked her feet, effectively hitting him in the balls.

"Ooo." Scott cringed. He sat up and grabbed Addalin as Hunter groaned and held himself, curling up into a ball.

"Fuck a duck and a half. Addalin, what the fuck?" He hissed.

"Are you okay?" Scott said, trying to hide his laughter.

Hunter ignored him. "Fuck." He said as he sat up. "My stomach hurts from that." He tried to stand up but the moment he moved to stand it hurt. "Yeah, nope." He said as he settled back down.

He turned back to Addalin who was settled in scotts arms, chewing on her finger with a smile, laughing.

"Girl, I'm gonna whoop your little ass." He chuckled. He turned around and tickled her sides.

Before dinner, Scott made sure that everyone knew that Mitch was actually Hunter. Thank god no one asked questions, they all knew that they would be told eventually.

They also knew, that the longer his parents were here, the longer they had to wait for Mitch to come back.

Scott was having a hard time getting Addalin dressed. He'd just finished giving her a bath, but now she was refusing to get dressed, as if she'd rather run around naked.

Not happening.

As he struggled to get her pants on, she threw a toy at him.

"Amanda. You do not throw things at Daddy. You know better." He scolded her.

She flicked her eyes at him and glared.

Scott chuckled and flicked his eyes. "If you think you're gonna win this, I've got news for you, sweetheart."
