Chapter 104

Everyone was sitting at a large table, somewhere in the back corner of a super fancy restaurant. They were all telling jokes back and forth to one another.

"Okay, okay." Scott said. "I've got one." He turned to Avi. "Knock knock."

Avi rolled his eyes. "Who's there?" This was the fourth "Knock knock" joke scott had made.

"Car go."

Avi sighed. "Car go who?"

"Car go beep beep." He laughed, maybe a little too hard, at his own joke.

Mitch slapped his chest. "That was awful."

"So awful that it was funny?" Scott asked his fiance. Mitch chuckled and nodded.

"Yeah, we'll say that." He smiled and patted Scott on the shoulder, before returning to his food.

"My turn." Esther said, finishing the bite she had just taken. "How do you fit three gay guys on a bar stool?"

"Oh, dear God." Mitch groaned and dropped his head jokingly. "How?" He asked, even though he knew the answer.

"Flip it over." She smiled. Everyone gave some sort of chuckle, but Kevin was beyond confused, as usual.

He looked to Leigh, who rolled her eyes and leaned in to whisper in his ear. "Oooohhhhh. Okay." He shifted in his seat, suddenly uncomfortable at the mental image.

He was feeling very nervous as the little purple velvet box in his pocket pressed against his leg. Tonight was the night. He had everything planned out that he was going to say, and then it would be Avi's turn. Esther knew that Avi was proposing because, well, shes his sister. She didn't know about Kevin's plans. The only person that knew the two men were proposing, aside from themselves, was Mitch.

Kevin checked the time and saw they'd been here for over an hour. He looked around and everyone was chattering and laughing and having a good time. He looked at Leigh, who looked as beautiful as ever and smiled.

"You're staring." She blushes and giggled.

"I know." Kevin said. "You're beautiful."

She smiled shyly and pulled him in for a quick kiss. "Thank you." She said, the red tint to to her cheeks darkening.

Kevin leaned over and told Mitch it was time. Mitch squealed and shot up to his feet. "Okay! Everyone shut up and look at me." All talking at the table stopped. Avi felt his nerves begin to surface and his heart began to pound. He was pretty sure it'd jump right through his chest, That's how hard it was pounding. "There is a reason we are here, at this place, and this time." He continued his little speech and Kevin stood up and grabbed Leigh's hand, so she was on her feet as well. "And now." Mitch was still going. "If you all could turn you attention to Kevin.

Kevin felt his heart race as he grabbed his girlfriends hand. "Leigh. I fell in love with you the moment I saw you. The first date we went on, I knew I wanted to marry you. I want to be there for you though everything. You and our son. You two are the most amazing thing that has happened to me, and I couldn't ask for anything better. I know that I want to spend the rest of my life with you, as your mate and you husband."

He pulled the little box out of his pocket and got down on one knee. The entire restaurant went quiet. Leigh gasped and covered her nose and mouth with her hands, watching with tear filled eyes as he opened the little box, revealing the engagement ring.

"So, Leigh, if you'll have me, will you marry me?" He looked up and saw her crying.

She was sobbing, actually. She sniffled and composed herself enough to utter a single word. "Yes!" She said. Kevin put the ring on her finger and kissed it, followed by him standing up and her wrapping her arms around his neck, kissing him deeply. Everyone at the table cheered, as well as everyone in the restaurant.

Mitch chuckled and stood on his chair, facing the crowd. "You guys want more?" He announced. "Well, it just so happens that we do have more." He turns around and looks at Avi.

Scott just sat there in amazement, as well as the rest of the group.

"Kirstie." Avi said, grabbing her hand and standing them up. She already had tears in here eyes, as he got onto his knee and held her hand. She covered her mouth with her free hand. "You have been through, and overcome so much in such a short time. You are beautiful, smart, and amazing. I love everything about you and so much more. You're the mother of our child and I couldn't be happier. All I ever want to do is care for you and make you happy. I will never do anything to hurt you, and I want you to know that. I love waking up next to you every morning. You make me unbelievably happy, and I want to do the same, in everyway possible. So, Kirstin Taylor Maldonado." He pulled out the little box from his pocket and opens it. "Will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?" He took a breath. "Will you marry me?" He smiles at her.

Kirstie was sobbing. She looked over at mitch, who was smiling. When she didn't look away, he spoke. "Girl, say something." He smiled. She laughed and looked back at the man in front of her. She smiled and nodded. "Yes, Avi! Yes!" She said through her tears. She felt the cool metal on her finger as he put the ring in it. He stood up and pulled her in for a big loving hug as well as a kiss.

Mitch stood back on his chair. "That's all, folks!" Everyone clapped and cheered. He laughed as he jumped back down and everyone sat down.

"Holy shit." Avi said and looked to Kevin. "We did it." He smiled. Kevin nodded in response. Kirstie and leigh had moved to the other side of their, now, fiances and were squealing. Then Kirstie looked at Mitch.

"You knew about this?"

Mitch nodded and smiled proudly. "Yep! I knew everything that was gonna happen tonight. Helped plan it too." He leaned against Scott and kissed his shoulder. Then held out his hands for the girls. "We're getting married, bitches!" He said and they all squealed.

"Ow." Scott said, putting a finger to his ear. "That hurt." They all gave him an apologetic look and went back to what they're doing.

Esther gave her brother a hug. "I'm so proud of you!"

He laughed. "Thanks. Fun fact: I forgot everything I was gonna say. I had it all planned out and everything. Then Mitch looked at me and poor. It was gone." He chuckled.

Scott put a hand on his shoulder. "You did good. Just know, do anything to break her heart and I'll kill you." He smiled, as if he didn't just threatened Avis life.

Avi chuckled. "Noted. Besides, I could never do that to her, nor will I. Ever."

"I'll drink to that." He held up his glass of wine. Avi did the same.

"To marriage, kinda." They both laughed and took a drink.

"You know, Scott. You guys have come so far. Granted the only thing that was planned was this whole thing, but nonetheless, here we are. You have a daughter, Kevin has a son, me and kit are having a baby, Esther's having her baby in what?" He looked to his sister. "Two weeks?"

She laughed. "About that. Maybe three." She rubbed her belly.

"Its all just amazing. I'm so proud of all of us. This pack has grown and not just in numbers."

"It really is amazing, isn't it?" Scott look over everyone at the table. Everyone was smiling and laughing and having a good time. Mitch and the girls were comparing rings and giggling and laughing. Kevin was sitting there, holding Leigh's hand and looking at her lovingly. Avi and esther were having a conversation. It was all just great.

They were a family.
