Chapter 40: 3rd person POV cont.

His body hurt. Scott did his best to go to sleep but he couldn't shake the feeling he had. After that whole... episode, he was shaky, tired, and drained.

He faintly remembered the conversation he was having with Avi, before he blacked out. What he didn't understand is why he came to next to Kirstie, holding her hand.

He wanted to hold Mitch, but he knew Avi wouldn't allow it. He snapped his eyes as he remembered. The mind-link! He couldn't cuddle with Mitch, but he could talk to him.

Mitchie? He tried. At first he heard nothing. He tried again in case Mitch hadn't heard him.

Scotty? Mitch eventually replied. His voice was happy sounding.

Yes Mitchie, I can't sleep and I already know Avi won't let you come in here, so I thought I would try out this mind-link thing. Is it working?

Well, we're talking aren't we? How are you feeling? You scared me earlier.

I know I did. I scared my self. I have no idea. One moment, I'm talking with Avi and the next, he's pinning me to the ground and I'm holding hands with Kirstie. It was weird. I don't remember anything in between.

That is weird. I can tell that it had to do with Kirstie. I heard Avi yelling. Something about a bond?

Scott's eyes got wide as he realized what Mitch had said. He shook his head and continued talking as if he didn't know what was going on.

I have no idea, Mitchie. All I know is that I want to forget about it. Scott felt bad about lying to his mate, but until he knew more information he wasn't going to say anything.

Okay, why don't you try to get some sleep. The inspectors gonna be here in a few hours. I'll come wake you when they arrive. Deal?

Scott could practically hear Mitch's smile. This in turn made him smile.

Scott chuckled. His talk with Mitch calmed him down enough to where he could fall asleep. He was glad they figured out the mind-link. It really helped.

Finally. Scott felt himself falling asleep at the thought of his mate.

Down the hall, Kirstie was a different story. She felt sick. Her head hurt, she couldn't see straight, and she couldn't move. Once everything calmed down, it hit her hard.
