Chapter 109: Scott

I pull up to the house and just sit the for a bit.

Holy fuck. I just delivered a child. Never thought I'd be able to say that one. Ever.

I get out of the car and enter the house. I'm hit with babies screaming. Zac is sitting in his bouncer, screaming bloody murder, and Addalin is sitting on the couch, screaming, with red eyes.

"Mitch?" I call. I go over and pick up Addalin, who screams even harder when she looks at me. "Oh, I'm not doing this with you." I say. I flick my eyes red and stare at her until she calms down and gives up. "Thank you. Now, you're gonna sit here like a good girl while I go find mommy." I set her down and she just pouts, I roll my eyes and chuckle. "Just like your mother."

I go over to Zac, who seems to have calmed down now that Addalin isn't screaming. "Mitch!" I try again after I put Zac down. I go into the kitchen and see Mitch curled up in the corner, rocking back and forth. "Baby, what happened?" I ask softly. I want to touch him, but I know what'll happen if I do.

He lets out a heartbreaking sob, that only increases my want to hold him. "Baby, talk to me." I take a chance and place a hand on his knee.

He looks up at me with bright, tear-filled, blue eyes.

"I can't-...I couldn't-...they both out rank me. I c-couldn't calm Ad-Addalin do-wn. She went in-into alpha mode, and sh-she is a higher r-rank than me. Sh-she won't l-lis-ten. Same wi-with Zac." He sobs and drops his head back into his knees.

"Oh, baby." I pull him into me and cradle him as he sobs. Then I hear the babies start screaming again. Mitch just starts crying even harder. I rub his back, knowing it calms him down. "I'm gonna call Kevin, okay?" I kiss his head and try to get up but he just latches on.

"Don't leave me!" He wails, balling my shirt into his fists. I hold on to him and pull out my phone and dial Kevin's number.

"This is Kevin." He says.

"Kevin! Thank god you answered. Are you almost home?" I ask, relieved.

"Just got off. Why, what's wrong?"

"Mitch is panicking and the kids won't stop screaming." I sigh.

"They won't listen?"

"No. Mitch thinks its because they both out rank him. Could that be it?"

"Honestly, yes. If Addalin is in Alpha mode, the only one she'll listen to is you or Avi, because you both out rank her. She wont listen to a lower rank. Not when shes in alpha mode. And if shes screaming, like you said, I bet its freaking Zac out. Just take him and put him in his crib, its about nap time anyway. As for Addalin, I think its best if we keep those two separate." He finishes.

I take a breath. "Alright. So, maybe Mitch Shouldn't be left alone with the two of them again." I feel Mitch's body start shaking as I say that and he starts hyperventilating. "Uh, Kev, I gotta go. Mitch is freaking out again. Just try to get home quickly, please."

"I'm turning the corner right now. I'll be there in a minute."

"Thank you."

"No problem." He hands up.

"Am I a bad mother?" Mitch asks, his voice muffled by my shirt.

"Oh, honey, no. Of course not. You're an amazing mother." I squeeze him.

"Then...why wont she listen?" He sobs.

"She temperamental. Just like you. It'll be fine. Kevin's on his way. Hows about, when he gets home, we go and do something?."
