I wake up and see that its almost 4 in the afternoon. I turn over, expecting Mitch, until I remember what happened last night.

Poor Mitchy. It breaks me to see him like that and that there's nothing I can do.

I sniffle and drag myself out of bed, not bothering to put on a shirt, and walk down to the living room.

I see someone sitting on the couch. I go over and I find that its Esther. I tap her shoulder and she looks up. "Oh, hey!" She says with a bright smile as she stands to give me a hug. "How are you holding up?"

I just shake my head. If I talk about this now, I'm gonna bawl my eyes out. I take a deep breath. "Not right now." I say, tears forming.

She runs her thumb along my cheek. "Okay, sweetie. Uh, anyway, where's my brother?" She smiles.

I sniffle and wipe my face. "Uh, I think he's with Kirstie. I have no idea where though."

"Here!" I hear Kirstie squeal. She runs over to me. I see that her long blond hair is now black, and it looks amazing.
She crashes into me, causing us to fall to the ground.

"Ow." I say. Then I look at her and she really does look beautiful. "Wow. Black looks good on you." I chuckle.

"Thanks...big brother." She smiles.

I stop whatever I was doing and look at her. "What?" She said. "Might as well get used to it. Granted its a strange thing but, hey." She shrugged and got off me and held out a hand for me.

Esther looked at us with a raised eyebrow. "Oh, yeah." Kirstie says. "Scott's my brother." She smiles and hugs me.

Esther looks even more confused.

"Uh." I say. "Long story."

"Must be." Kirstie laughs. "I don't even know."

"Alrighty then." Esther says, clearly uncomfortable. "I love your hair, by the way. Really bring out the beauty if your face." She smiles. "Not that it wasn't already there." She added quickly. Then changed the subject. "Uh, wheres Avi?"

"Oh, he's out back with Addi." Kirstie smiles, laying her head against my chest.

Esther nodded and walked out.

"Disney?" Kirstie asked me.

Avi P.O.V.

Addalin was babbling and slobbering all over herself. Kevin said that since she's is the offspring of an alpha and a male omega, she would grow faster than normal. Something to do with Mitch, yada yada yada. I don't really care. All I know is that she is a three month old with the physique and motor skills of a six month old. She's literally a scientific anomaly. But she's cute so whatever.

I'm just messing around with her. Shes gotten really good with the eye flick thing, so we've been doing that back and forth.

I hear the door slide open and I see my sister. "Hey!" I say, standing up. I move the baby to my hip and pull esther in for a hug. She kisses my cheek before she pulls away and asks for the baby. I hand her over, but she starts fussing.

Esther raises an eyebrow and hands her back over, and she immediately calms back down.

Esther gives me a look.

"I think it's something to do with Mitch. I think she can sense when somethings off. She's the same way with him." I guess. I honestly don't know. But it seems to be the common factor. She barely lets Scott hold her now.

"Oh." Esther says.

"I mean its just a guess, but I think it might be an alpha thing. Or at least a female alpha thing. I don't know. I've never actually met a female alpha, so I'm just speculating. Is there anything going on that I should know about?" I raise an eyebrow. Judging by the look in her eyes, I hit a nerve.

"No. Nothing." She says quickly. She raises her hand to scratch her head and I see what I'm hoping isn't a bruise, around her wrist.

I quickly shot my hand up and grab her hand, but she quickly pulls it away.

"Esther, please tell me that isn't what I think it is." I say.

"Its not. Its nothing." She says, avoiding eye contact with me.

"So, what happened to your wrist? Matter of fact, it's 90° out here, why not take off that big ass coat." I suggest, knowing what I might see if she does.

"I'm fine, Avi. Drop it." She says firmly with tears in her eyes.

"Es-"

"I said "drop it" Avriel."

Now I know something is wrong. She never calls me Avriel other wise.

I walk over to the door and call Kirstie.

"Yes?" She says sweetly. She waves to Esther, who waves back but with sad eyes. I hand the baby over. "Is she okay?" She whispers, nodding over to my sister.

I smile. "Yeah, shes fine. Take Addalin and go...do something with her."

"Okay!" She chirps. I'm honestly glad serenity came in when she did. What ever she did with Kirstie worked.

I shut the door and turn to Esther. "Please talk to me."

"Avi, please." She whispers, tears threatening to spill.

I grab her hand and lift up her sleeve. She whimpers when I do.

I see bruises around her wrist and around her forearm.

"Did Darien do this?" I growl.

"Help me." She whimpers, barely above a whisper.

I nod. "I'm going too. I will. But...can I see the rest?"

She sniffles and nods. I don't really want to see it, but I need to know how bad it is. She takes off her jacket, but shes wearing a long sleeve shirt under it. "Can we go somewhere that's more private, please?" She asks me.

"Yes, of course." I grab her hand and lead her back into the house and up to my room.

She stands stiff as a board and looks at me. "Please." I say, fighting tears. "I need to know."

She nods and slowly takes off her shirt, grimacing as she does and I smell pain.

I feel my breathing hitch as I look at her. She has bruises all around her arms and stomach. She turns around and I see more bruises. I feel sick.

"There's more." She whimpers.

I take a breath and nod.

She slowly unbuttons her jeans and slides them down and I see huge dark bruises on the inside of her thighs. I look back up and I see little dots on her hips, that look way to similar to Kirstie's when she got here.

"Oh, Esther, no." I say.

She looks down as she sobs, covering herself. I pull her pants back up and button them and hand her her shirt, which I help with as well.

"I want you to stay with me for a while." I say.

"No, Avi-"

"I'm not asking." I grow, my eyes turning red.

"No, Avi you don't understand. I can't." She says with tears in her eyes. This time she's looking me dead in the eyes.

"You have to. You can't stay with him." I grab her hand. "Please, let me help you."

"Avi, I can't." She repeats.

"Why not?"

She just stares at me. Then is a heartbreaking whisper she tells me.

"I'm pregnant."

Okay, so, I know that Esthers husband isn't like this in real life. But you know me, always gotta have drama.

Damn...this pack really can't catch a break, can they? Who knows, maybe Esther will join for a while?

Guess we'll find out, won't we?
