y/n stood in her mother's spell book shop, placing assorted books in their designated places. just as she began to place a green book on the shelf, she felt cold hands go around her eyes.

"guess who." the voice spoke with a laugh.

"draco!" she said excitedly as she turned around and pulled him into a hug, "i didn't even know you were around."

"i was walking along the alley with mum when i saw you through the window. figured i'd stop in to see my favorite girl." he grabbed her hand and kissed the back of it.

"i'm so happy you did, it feels like i haven't seen you in forever."

he chuckled, "it's only been three weeks, my love."

"yeah, three weeks too long." she said as she smiled at her boyfriend.

"oh, draco! i didn't even see you, dear. how are you?" y/m/n asked as she came around from the back of the shop. she pulled him into a small hug.

"i've been okay, mrs. y/l/n. thank you for asking. father says he's thrilled to see you all at the quidditch world cup, and i've been informed that we will all be seated together."

her mother gave the boy a small smile, "ah, yes. fudge invited y/f/n not too long ago. we are all more than excited to watch the game, y/n even seems to be delighted."

y/n nodded and then the three watched as narcissa walked in, "i was wondering where you had run off to." she said as she grinned at her son. she turned to y/n and gasped quietly, "and you must be y/n. you are even more gorgeous in person. thank you for making my boy so happy."

y/n turned towards draco as she began to blush, and then turned back to his mum, "you have an amazing son, mrs. malfoy."

narcissa beamed at her. y/n was truly the only one that made draco feel good and she was so happy that the girl was around to be there for him.

they soon said their goodbyes as y/n and her mother finished their tasks in the book shop.

"righty then! let's go, come on, let's go! we don't wanna be late, do we?" y/f/n said as he began to run around the house to gather everything the three would be needing.

"dad, calm down." y/n laughed, "we're ready."

y/f/n turned to look at his daughter, "that you are, princess. are you excited?"

y/n nodded her head quickly, "very."

after they were all ready, they quickly began their way towards the portkey that would be sending them to the game. they all got into position as y/n's father counted to three and they all began to spin around rapidly. y/n always hated traveling by portkeys, they made her feel sick.

the travel was fast, and they were soon all stood as their feet hit the ground. they walked side by side towards the sounds of people chattering and y/n gawked at the sight before her. she had never been to a world cup game and it was absolutely marvelous. her father directed her and his wife to their tent and they all stepped inside. y/n placed her bag down on her bed and before she knew it, her and her family were walking up towards their area in the heavily packed stands.

she saw draco and his father and the three joined them and began to walk to their spots together. he was wearing an all black suit. she thought it was a bit odd he was wearing such a formal outfit to a quidditch game, but she didn't mind. he looked incredible.

"blimey, dad! how far up are we?" the familiar voice caused y/n to look up and she quickly noticed the weasleys, harry and hermione.

"well, put it this way: if it rains, you'll be the first to know." lucius mocked. y/n couldn't contain her giggles, yet her father gave her a disapproving look. even though he had known about her and ron's fallen friendship, he hadn't raised her to be mean and cruel. she immediately stopped laughing and turned her gaze elsewhere. y/f/n then grabbed his wife's hand and continued to lead her to their seats, leaving y/n with draco and his dad.

"my father and i, along with the y/l/n's, are in the minister's box by personal invitation of cornelius fudge himself." draco shouted at him as he wrapped his arm around y/n.

"don't boast, draco!" lucius spat as he shoved his walking stick into dracos chest, "there's no need with these people."

y/n watched as the group above began to turn to walk away before lucius then smacked his walking stick against the railing, "do enjoy yourself, won't you? while you can."

mr. weasley continued to move his group away before he turned and looked at y/n while shaking his head, "i thought you were better than this."

his words stung her. even now, she truly hated when people mocked and belittled the weasleys. they were just simply a happy family, with no hate to share to anyone.

"c'mon, y/n." draco said as he led her to their seats.

"good evening! as minister for magic, it gives me great pleasure to welcome each and every one of you to the final of the 422nd quidditch world cup! let the match begin!" fudge boomed before sending a ball of light from his wand. everyone erupted into cheers and y/n clapped her hands enthusiastically.

"look! there's viktor krum! god, he's amazing!" y/n said gleefully.

"watch it." draco said as he narrowed his eyes at her. she playfully rolled her eyes. over the summer he had become incredibly protective over her. although he didn't mind when she spoke to other guys, he didn't like it when she complimented them. he wanted her sweet words to be for him, and only for him. it wasn't because he was insecure and thought she may leave him for someone else, he just wanted his girl to be only his.

"jealous, malfoy?" she teased.

he shook his head, making a disgusted face, "absolutely not."

after those words, he was quick to pull her closer to him, glaring at anyone who even looked in her direction. she didn't mind when draco was overly protective, it made her feel loved and wanted by him. if anything, she adored it.

they then turned their attention back to the game, watching it while leaned close together.
