y/n danced through the streets of diagon alley, her mother and father on either side of her and her new, young black owl "willow" sat on her shoulder. she was a happy girl, full of charisma and love. at only 11 years old, her parents had found her to be incredibly intelligent, and they loved to show off just how smart their little girl was whenever they could. she was brave, never scared of anything. of course, that had worried her parents a little, not knowing what dangers she could get herself into. yet above all, she was incredibly ambitious. when she knew what she wanted, even at such a young age, she made sure she got it, no matter the consequences.

"y/n, my dear, you've gotten so caught up in your own little world you've passed the shop!" y/n's mother called out to her as she realized she had done just that. y/n giggled, skipping over to her parents who both held happy smiles on their faces and she looked up at them with love in her eyes.

her mother, one of the smartest witches known in the wizarding world, had opened up her own spell book shop in diagon alley. however, not only did she sell spell books, she worked hard almost every single day to create new spells and improving the ones she had already made. this is where the young girl would be getting some of her textbooks for her first year at hogwarts.

as her and her parents, that had been hand in hand, walked into the shop she gazed down at their interlocked fingers, smiling at all the love the two had for each other and hoped to one day find someone that she could spend the rest of her life with as well.

"i have the books you need wrapped up in the back, sweetheart," her mother said as she went through a small archway to the back of the shop. "here you are, my love." the older y/l/n handed the wrapped books to her daughter, smiling at her best creation in life.

"thank you mum." y/n smiled thankfully, now completely ready for her first day at her new school. her father squatted down to meet her eye level and pulled her into a tight, bone crushing hug.

"i am so proud of you, princess. i know you are going to do great things." her father spoke lovingly. her mother rested a gentle hand on y/n's shoulder as she hugged her father, silently agreeing with the words her father spoke. the three pulled away and looked up as the they heard footsteps walking into the shop.

"ron!" y/n yelled, running up to the boy she had known almost her entire life. he engulfed her into another big hug, giggling loudly. fred and george stood next to them, so y/n pulled away and hugged them both individually. "it's so amazing to see you all again! i've missed you so much!"

"it's good to see you, too!" ron said, a large smile on his face.

"very good." the twins said in unison, earning a small laugh from the young girl. while mr. weasley spoke quietly with y/n's father, mrs. weasley stood next to the kids, chatting with y/m/n. molly had been getting her children's textbooks almost every year from her mother, and y/f/n and arthur worked together in the ministry of magic in the misuse of muggle artifacts section.

"y/n, dear, it's so good to see you again!" molly said, wrapping her arms around the girl and pressing a quick kiss to her cheek.

"you too, mrs. weasley!" y/n said gleefully.

though other pureblood familes looked down at the weasley's, y/n's mother and father taught her to never treat an individual differently, whether it be based on their blood status or the amount of money they held. even being a wealthy, pureblood who's family was loved by many, y/n saw ron as just another boy while he saw her as just another girl.

y/m/n had her employee and friend who was working at the time, sage, grab the weasley's books and the family happily accepted them before bidding their goodbyes and walking out of the shop to continue on their supply journey.

walking out of the family shop, y/n and her parents headed for their house to wait for the next day, the day where y/n would finally learn how to use magic.
