all of the pictures had been taken down and a gloomy vibe was washed across the castle. it was hard for y/n to even walk around. it didn't feel like school anymore, it felt like a nightmare.

y/n had been studying as much as she could for her owl's with both draco and marleys help. she just never really knew what exactly it was that she was supposed to learn. it frustrated her, she had always been high in her academic achievement but she couldn't stop beating herself up over this exam.

the examination day came sooner than she had hoped and she was now sat in the great hall. out of the many questions, she only really understood a handful. most of the questions were ones that a fifth year student couldn't possibly know.

her brain began to crumble and she sat with her head in her hand, staring at the many pages in front of her. umbridge was stood at the front and y/n gave her a quick glare before putting her head back down.

minutes passed and a loud sound could be heard from outside of the large doors. everyone turned their heads as they watched. umbridge walked down and opened the doors and a bright red ball of light flew into the room behind her and erupted into a firework.

right after, fred and george flew in on their brooms, shouting loudly at all of the students. they flung all of the papers off of the desks and sent even more fireworks out to explode.

y/n jumped up and made her way towards draco who quickly wrapped his arm around her waist. they watched and laughed at the twins, happy that the examination had been ruined.

the look on umbridges face was priceless. she was chased out of the room by a large, orange firework dragon and all of her rules that were hung on the walls came clashing down around her.

fred and george flew out from the room and outside with all of the students following. y/n grabbed dracos hand and took a large deep breath of fresh air. everyone cheered for the twins as they made another large firework in the sky, this one showing an orange w for weasley.

"amazing." y/n said in awe as she stared up into the sky.

y/n walked down the corridors back towards her dorm as she watched harry, ron, and hermione run past. they all showed faces of fear and she knew she wanted to figure out why. she turned and followed them, "ron! are you guys alright?"

they all whipped their heads around to look at her. "no, we must be going." ron said loudly so she could hear.

y/n jogged up to them, "what's going on?"

"it's sirius." harry said and y/n's eyes went wide.

"what's happened? is he alright?" she frantically asked.

"we don't have time to explain. we have to go."

"well, i'm coming with you!" she said as they began to walk away.

"no, you're not y/n. it's too dangerous." ron said as he shook his head.

"dangerous? ronald weasley, have i taught you nothing? danger is my middle name."

~

the four ran up the stairs as they shifted and turned in many directions. even though y/n really didn't know what was happening, she just knew that she needed to be there and fight alongside her friends.

"we'll have to use the floo network." harry said as he ran in front.

"umbridge has the chimneys under surveillance." y/n said.

"not all of them." harry said as they continued on their way.

the group made their way to umbridges office, and harry used "alohomora" to open the locked door. they had dismissed their robes and now were in their casual attire.

"alert the order if you can." harry said as he knelt in front of the fireplace.

"are you mental?" ron asked, "we're all going with you."

"it's too dangerous." harry yelled as he watched the green flames dance in front of him.

"when are you going to get it into your head? we're in this together." hermione said as she knelt down to his level.

"whatever you do harry, we've got your back." y/n said as she rested her hand on his shoulder, "we're going into this together whether you like it or not."

"that you are." a voice spoke up from behind them. it was umbridge. the woman gathered everyone up and used her 'army' to hold everyone together. y/n was happy when she noticed that draco wasn't one of the ones in the room.

goyle held onto the y/h/c haired girl tightly and whispered into her ear, "what in the bloody hell are you doing, y/n?"

she shook her head, "just tell draco i'll be back."

umbridge continued to interrogate harry and y/n had soon had enough when umbridge suggested the cruciatus curse. "tell her, harry!" she yelled.

umbridge turned and looked at the girl, "tell me what?"

y/n grew silent, not knowing what to say. she stuttered over her words and was thankful when hermione spoke up from next to her, "well, if you won't tell her where it is, i will."

"where what is?"

"dumbledore's secret weapon."

~

y/n waited with ron and the others on the bridge for harry and hermiones return. she played with her hands, a thing she had always done when she was nervous. she was pulled away from her thoughts when she saw the two run up.

"how'd you get away?" hermione asked.

"puking pastilles. it wasn't pretty." ginny said and y/n laughed.

"so, how are we getting to london?" neville asked.

"look, it's not that i don't appreciate everything you've done, all of you, but i've got you into enough trouble as it is." harry said as he began to walk away.

"dumbledore's army was supposed to be about doing something real." neville said, "or was that all just words to you?"

"harry, please. you don't have to do this all by yourself." y/n said as she gave the raven haired boy a soft smile. ron looked down at her and nodded his head proudly.

harry thought for a moment, "so how are we going to get to london?"

luna smiled, "we fly, of course."
