"broaden your minds! you must look beyond. the art of crystal gazing is in the clearing of the inner eye. only then can you see." professor trelawney rambled on.
y/n sat next to draco, her head in her palm as her elbow rested on the table. she was quickly dozing off. malfoy watched her, smiling at her sleepy face.
"didn't get much sleep last night, did you?" he asked her as she opened her eyes.
"no," y/n said as she closed her eyes again, "i was kept up all night as pansy continued to talk about blaise. apparently he has finally asked her out. i'm happy for her of course, she just never shuts up about him and it gets exhausting."
draco sighed, "i'm sorry. and you're right, she definitely never knows when to quit talking."
"this class is so boring." y/n stated as she rolled her eyes that were now looking at the crystal ball in front of her. "i wanna learn about spells and potions, not how to look beyond."
draco chuckled, "this class is rubbish. i'd much rather be in hagrids class and that's saying something."
y/n and draco soon put their attention on ron's table as hermione pushed the ball off of the table and marched out of the class room.
"wonder what her problem is this time." draco said as his eyes followed her until she was out of view. y/n shrugged.
"i couldn't tell you."
trelawney was quick to dismiss class and draco grabbed y/n's hand as they left. the two walked down the large spiral staircase until harry bumped shoulders with the blonde boy, as he was walking up.
"watch where you're going, potter!" draco hissed. harry didn't say anything, he just glared at the pair that were two steps below him before turning around and making his way back towards wherever he was going.
"are you coming with us y/n?" the blonde boy asked as they walked down the corridors.
"where?" she asked, confused.
"my father is having that bloody chicken of hagrids killed," he smirked, "and i wanna see it happen."
y/n gasped, "draco why would you do that? what happened was merely an accident, and if anything, it was your fault!"
"how is it my fault that that beast attacked me?" he asked her angrily as his eyes narrowed at her.
"you were the one to approach buckbeak. and hagrid literally said 10 minutes before that you have to walk up slowly and bow, not walk up quickly and insult the poor creature!"
"whatever, y/l/n, suit yourself. if you need me you know where to find me." he then walked away from the girl, leaving her in the empty space by herself.
y/n had began to walk up to her room before she realized that dracos ring still sat on her finger. she decided on going to find him to give it back, not because she didn't want to wear it anymore, because she did. she just really wanted to be petty and make him apologize for snapping at her. she walked outside and across a small bridge as she had seen blaise a few minutes before and he informed her that draco and his friends were out near the large rocks.
she walked along until she saw hermione hold her wand to dracos neck as he stood against the large rock in fear. she ran up to all of the students quickly and shouted, "what in the bloody hell is wrong with you, granger! get away from him!"
hermione turned towards her, her wand still pointed at draco, "coming to save him again, y/n? it's starting to become a bit foolish at this point, isn't it? you always having to defend him as he's too much of a baby to defend himself."
y/n grew furious. she quickly pulled her wand from her pocket and pointed it directly in hermiones face. ron and harry gasped from behind her.
"i'm really starting to grow sick of you, hermione. i'm assuming you must have nothing better to do than make the peoples lives around you miserable as that's all you ever seem to do. it's quite pathetic, if you ask me."
hermione glared at her, never dropping her eyes from the girl, "at least now we all know why you're in slytherin. you're a bitch! a cold hearted, selfish bitch!"
ron looked at hermione with wide eyes as she called y/n those words. draco and his friends just watched the two, not even knowing what to say.
"i may be a bitch, but at least i know i'd never drop a friend after i made new ones. put your wand down, granger, before i rip it from your hands and break it in to pieces." hermione finally lowered her wand, and draco began to laugh. the girl then turned and punched the blonde boy right in his nose. he fell down as his friends caught him and held him up.
y/n stared furiously at hermione, she was so close to hexing her right then and there. but instead she walked up to the girl and got dangerously close to her face, "keep your filthy hands to yourself before you get hurt, hermione."
with that, y/n turned and walked away leaving the three slightly scared.

"here." y/n said as she handed the ice pack to draco. he accepted it from her thankfully and she then plopped onto the sofa next to him.
"why did you even go down there?" he asked as he held the ice pack to his nose, "i thought you didn't want to see that thing be killed."
"i didn't." she replied, "i was coming to find you so i could give you your ring back."
draco looked at her sadly, "oh."
she sighed, "but on second thought, i think it still looks better on me." she held her hand up and grinned as she began to play with the ring lightly.
"that it does. i'm sorry i snapped at you earlier, i shouldn't have. i think i may have anger issues."
" you think?" she giggled. he laughed and she sat closer to him, laying her head on his shoulder. "it doesn't matter. your anger issues and every other annoying personality trait make you, you. and i wouldn't change anything about you for the world."
he kissed the top of her head as he leaned his cheek down to rest on her hair.
"have i ever told you that i think you're perfect?" he questioned after awhile of silence.
"no, but i think you should start from now on."
he chuckled, "will do, beautiful."
