y/n walked out of the classroom as fast as she could. she felt as though she was on the verge of tears, mainly because she was so furious with umbridge. she wasn't upset, just angry that that nasty and vile woman would now start to ruin her life just as she had done with her father.
she walked through the corridors swiftly, ignoring everyone that called out to her. she didn't stop until she was in front of the slytherin dorm down in the dungeons. she gave the password and walked inside.
draco and marley were sat in the common room with goyle, crabbe and blaise, waiting for her to get back. she huffed and tried to walk past them to go up to her room but draco quickly stopped her.
"what's wrong?" he asked. he noticed how angry her face looked and noticed how she kept her hands tucked harshly in her pockets.
"that bloody woman!" y/n spat, "god, if i had the chance i would blow her to pieces as fast as i could."
"what did she do?" he asked softly, not wanting to anger the girl in front of him even more.
"she took her first breath however many years ago it was, that's what she did."
draco went to grab her hand but she quickly turned her body, her hands still in her pockets. "don't."
y/n turned away from her friends and walked up the stairs quickly. draco looked at the others worriedly before following his girl up the stairs. he walked into her dorm room and saw her putting her hair up, her hands now exposed. he noticed the cuts in her skin, "did she do this to you?"
y/n didn't even bother hiding it anymore, she knew she had been caught. "it doesn't matter."
"yes it does, y/n. you need to tell someone about this."
"why?" she said loudly, causing dracos eyes to go wide, "so she can punish me some more? better me than my father."
draco nodded his head. he had heard all about dolores and y/f/n. "i'm sorry."
y/n shook her head with a sigh. she didn't mean to raise her voice at him, she was just angry. "don't be. i didn't mean to snap at you like that. i'm just irritated. but please, promise me you won't say anything to anyone."
draco gave her a small smile, "if you don't want me to say anything, i won't. but you need to promise me you'll at least try to be civil with her, for your own sake."
y/n leaned over to kiss his pale lips, "okay."
~
"pardon me, professor, but what exactly are you insinuating?"
y/n picked her head up from the book she was reading at the sound of the voice. she turned to marley who was also looking towards the door of the great hall. they jumped from their seats, walking out to see what was going on.
"i am merely requesting that when it comes to my students, you conform to the prescribed disciplinary practices." mcgonagall said she she walked up the stairs, professor umbridge right on her tail.
y/n walked up and stood next to harry, giving him a knowing look. she grabbed his hand and saw the cuts that had now been turned into a scar and rubbed her thumb over it lightly, "here we go."
"so silly of me, but it sounds as if you're questioning my authority in my own classroom, minerva." umbridge said before harry could say anything.
"not at all, dolores, merely your medieval methods."
"i am sorry, dear. but to question my practices is to question the ministry and by extension, the minister himself. i am a tolerant woman but the one thing i will not stand for is disloyalty."
y/n turned her head to the back of the students, noticing draco who was stood next to crabbe and goyle. she glared at him, thinking that he must've broken his promise to her.
"things at hogwarts are far worse than i feared. cornelius will want to take immediate action." umbridge said now to the students before stomping away.
the students began to walk away but y/n walked straight up to draco, "you told someone, didn't you?"
"i promised you i wouldn't." he said, looking down at her.
y/n just looked at him for a moment before turning away. she walked away with marley, leaving draco to call out her name.
she strutted back into the great hall and sat down where she had been previously sitting and began to read her spell book once more. she looked up once a shadow began to cast over her.
"i didn't say anything." draco said as he sat down across from her.
"it's fine if you did, draco. just tell me and don't lie about it."
he reached across the table and grabbed her hand, "i didn't, i swear. it had to have been someone else."
y/n nodded her head, believing him. she figured it must've been someone else who umbridge had previously tortured.
"i hope she gets fired." marley said, setting her quill down.
"me too. why did she have to come to hogwarts in the first place? to make everyone's lives a living hell?" y/n rolled her eyes.
marley chuckled, "obviously. it's not like she had other intentions. she's almost as bad as pansy."
"i would agree with you," y/n laughed, "but i think the two of them tie for first place."
draco soon stood up, "i'll leave you two to finish what you're working on. i'm going to head back towards the common room."
y/n nodded her head and watched him stand up. he leaned over the table and gave her a kiss quickly before leaving the great hall.
"you know, some people don't think you and draco will work out. i, on the other hand, think you will." marley said as she began writing on her piece of parchment.
y/n didn't say anything. she just smiled and turned to begin reading once again.
