the holidays had came and gone. y/n hadn't spoken to draco since the night of slughorns christmas party and it broke her a little more inside every day. she wasn't doing good, and everyone around her noticed. she hardly ate and she hardly slept. her grades had began to slip and she hardly ever spoke to anyone except blaise or marley.

y/n walked down an empty corridor, something she had began to do often to take her mind off of her broken relationship. she approached a corner and watched as harry walked quickly past her. as she turned, she noticed that he had been following someone, draco.

she followed them both silently until she turned another corner, seeing that draco had disappeared. she turned around quickly, walking back in the same direction to be sure that harry wouldn't see her.

y/n sat next to marley in the great hall, a full plate sat in front of her. the blonde girl looked at her sadly before turning back to her own food.

katie had walked in not long not long ago and y/n watched harry as he spoke to her, keeping a close eye on him.

y/n directed her gaze back towards the table and she felt marley nudge her shoulder gently. the girl looked up and noticed draco had just walked in. he made eye contact with her and turned around, leaving the great hall as quickly as he had came in.

she watched harry as he followed close behind draco once more and she stood up, following after them again. they both walked fast and y/n had to pick up a slight jog to even keep them both in sight.

they had walked into a bathroom and she hid behind the wall, slowing down her breathing so they wouldn't hear.

"i know what you did, malfoy! you hexed her, didn't you?" harry spat.

they soon began firing spells back and forth, breaking sinks, mirrors and anything else that got in their way. y/n ran into the bathroom quickly, attempting to stop them both.

"stop it! stop it, please!" she screamed.

the floor began to flood and she soon heard harry yell, "sectumsempra", sending draco to the ground to lay in the water. y/n screamed and ran to her boyfriend as quickly as she could as he sobbed on the ground. he began to bleed out, the clear water soon turning a crimson color.

"draco, look at me." she cried as she pulled him into her, "look at me, baby. i'm right here."

she looked up at harry as he walked towards them, "how could you! how could you do this, harry!"

the boy in her lap continued to sob as he held onto her tightly. her clothes were drenched and she couldn't tell if it was from the water on the ground or her own tears.

snape walked in and knelt beside her, whispering "vulnera sanentur." the blood seeped back into dracos body and his wounds began to heal. he continued to cry into y/n's chest as she held him.

"i told you, i'm here. it's okay, don't cry, my love. i'm here." she whispered.

snape left the two alone and they sat together until he stopped crying and calmed down. she ran her fingers through his hair as she continued to whisper to him. he leaned up and pressed his shaking lips to hers, pressing his hand to her cheek.

"i love you, y/n. i love you so much." he whispered as he began to cry once again.

"i love you, more. just please, don't let me go." she said as she cried as well.

he shook his head, wiping the wetness away from her face, "i don't want to do this. i don't want to follow him. i'm scared."

"i know, i know. it's okay. we're gonna fix this, together."

he held up his shaking hand and pointed up his pinky, causing her to laugh gently. she wrapped her pinky around his and kissed him again.

"here, eat this." draco said as he handed y/n an apple.

she shook her head and pulled the blanket up to her shoulders as she sat on his bed, "i'm not hungry."

"i don't care. marley told me you haven't eaten in days. eat this apple, now."

she sighed as she grabbed the fruit and took a bite. he sat next to her, kissing her forehead and pulling her into his chest.

"you look exhausted, too. have you slept?" he asked as he played with her hair.

"like 8 hours."

"a night?"

"in about 5 days."

he sighed, "y/n,"

"i know, okay. everyone's been lecturing me but i couldn't sleep with me not knowing if you were okay or not." she said as she cut him off.

"i'm sorry, princess. i know that this is all my fault, but i couldn't tell him no."

she shook her head, "i'm not blaming you, i couldn't. i know you wouldn't do this willingly."

"well, you're the only one that seems to think so."

she looked up and stared into his broken grey eyes, "you're a good person, draco. you always have been. i've always been able to look past your tough exterior, you're just a boy that's in desperate need of a support system and from the very minute i met you i vowed to be that person for you. i love you, i'm in love with you and i will be until the day i die. you don't have to go through anything alone. you have me, and i have you."

he stared at her as his lips began to tremble once more. he looked down as a tear slipped past his eye, "my entire life i've grown up alone. i've never had a shoulder to lean on or someone to hold me as i cried. i grew up terrified of everything and i was afraid i would forever be in solitary. you are the only thing that has stopped me from ending everything. i want to be better for you and i want to run away with you, from everything, and live normal lives."

he began to cry harder and y/n laid down, allowing him to rest his head right below her chin. he sobbed into her shirt. this time she didn't cry, this time she knew she had to be strong for him. they laid for awhile and he eventually suppressed his cries, his breathing slowly going back to normal.

"one of these days i'm going to marry you." he said quietly.

"promise?"

"i promise."
