A fireplace burned brightly in the dim colored room. The only sound coming from the door was the occasional distinct crackling of fire. The moving flames of the fireplace created shifting shadows across the dank and dark walls.

"Still no results, eh Pride?" came a sudden low male voice over the crackling of fire and its shadow.

"No sir." came the swift and calculating voice of Pride. She was on her knees, her orchid color hair covering the nervous look on her face as she stood before the man.

"No progress...I see...you are a failer as a Deadly Sin, have you gone so far as to lose your one and only trait...your pride on a mere girl?''

Pride could fell her face burning up, and she struggled to contain her composure.

''Remember our true objective Pride...You must allow it to be completed, even at the cost of your own life, disposable...aren't they?" came the voice, with raspy breath and intense hatred.

"Of course, I know that...King Sylvester...I will not fail." said a nervous, but determined Pride, getting up, her legs scraping the cracked floors below her. "You needn't send my other siblings..."

"I hope not, I wouldn't want another accident such as yourself, as you are showing me..." came the voice, harsher and cold as ice. It managed to send goosebumps down Pride, making her skin prickle with fear.

"Of course not! I am not---" she began, but the voice cut her off once more.

"Then show me. Show me whether your useful or worthless."

Pride felt herself shaking, slightly. "No great sir, it was merely a setback, a shock at seeing someone get in the way of our plans..I will assure you that nothing will ever happen as they did that day." Pride began to smile, the violet in her eyes, gave off a flash of purple flames. "My pride is my strength, and I'm sure she'll be helping me as well as she has been doing for quite some time."

She felt the tears well up inside before she knew it. Again, she had burst into tears over it. She felt her heart sink lower and lower, into her stomach as the tears poured down her face and onto her chin. Her shoulders trembled as she repeated those same words to her.

"Seriously, you want to become a knight? You can't do that...that's really dumb, you should go for a real dream..."

She knew she shouldn't respond, she knew she shouldn't make it any worse then it was, but...but it hurt.

''It is real! It's real! It's my real dream, Kameko!" she shouted. "It is! Grandpa told me so!"

She heard her sister's giggling laugh. "If you say so, Grandpa is old and probably clueless by now, that's why he says the things he does. Mom and dad were worried about him having dementia or mixing things up as he grew older. He convinced you to be crazy too. Crazy Emiyo! Crazy Emiyo!"

Her voice boomed inside her ears, it made her blood boil, and she clenched her fists in anger. "It's true! It's real! Don't you dare make fun of Grandpa!"

"Haha, at least I believe in the facts, just like our grandma and parents! Have fun with your make believe!" Kameko called out as she walked away, stack of books on her small hands. "I'm going to do something productive and useful for my future..."

She wasted no second in rushing back the way she had come, towards her grandfather's house. She knew he was always outside sitting on the grass, he was always fond of nature. He saw her coming. A man of tall stature, white-ginger hair, and bright pink twinkling eyes that sparkled whenever he smiled.
