I'm so tired with all the lies I have been told. And even when I know which one was true, the truth is never as painful as discovering a lie.

"Where are they?" my head tilted sidewards when I heard Kuya Atom's voice behind me.

I looked down on the table and sighed. I was left alone at the dining table because Ate Catalina's parents couldn't stand the sight of me.

"They left." I wanted to say more but those two words seemed to convey everything he wanted to know. He looked more problematic than me, though.

"Anong nangyari sa'yo? Why do you look..." I asked him but I felt like it wasn't my place to ask, or more probably I have an idea why so asking him doesn't feel necessary.

He buried his face on his palms and didn't say a word. The silence was only interrupted when my phone vibrated and flashed my boyfriend's name on the screen.

"I'll just... take this.." I murmured carefully and stood up from my seat.

"Hey, what's up?" I asked, with one of my hands resting on my pelvis.

"You made an agreement with Catalina without telling me?!" iyon kaagad ang bungad niya sa aking tanong.

"Agreement?" I repeated. I haven't made an agreement with her yet, besides pinag-iisipan ko pa ang offer ni Ate Catalina kaya paanong nakarating sa kanya ang ganitong balita?

"Damn it, Harper!" he roared in his gruffy yet frustrated voice.

"Hey, watch your tone. And I need you to calm down." matapang kong utos sa kanya dahil sa paraan ng kanyang pananalita at sa tono ng kanyang boses, nawawari kong wala siya sa normal na disposisyon. "What agreement were you talking about?" mas maayos kong tanong upang maliwanagan ako sa paratang niya.

"Catalina made an offer to you about the custody and you didn't bother telling me?" his tone was accusative.

I had no hesitation of telling him about the offer not until I spoke with Danica.

"I-I was about to tell you but..." hindi ko nagawang tapusin ang aking gustong sabihin dahil nahihiya akong ituloy. I want to tell him but the idea of him getting back together with the mother of his kid bothered me and scared the crap out of me.

"But what, Harper? Please tell me that it was a valid reason. Please!" he roared again on the other line.

But I don't even know if my reasons were valid enough not to tell him about the offer. I'm scared of letting him compromise and let Ate Catalina invade his life again. I'm scared that she might use their kid in order to threaten him and put a leash on him. I'm scared of Blade having second thoughts to complete his family back. Despite what she possibly did, she's still Bullet's mother, she was the one who gave birth to the most precious thing in his life right now.
