Chapter 14 [Tension]

It has been almost half an hour of awkward breakfast with my family. Why awkward? Because Kuya Evan has been making it hard for me to keep a straight face. Kasing talim ng kutsilyo ang mga tingin niya sakin at iirap pa na akala mo teenager eh gurang naman na siya. Hanggang ngayong umaga ay bugnot pa rin siya sakin.

"Evan, why is your face like that? Do you have a problem?" Mom finally took that time to notice his unusual behavior.

Sabay na nagtinginan sina Kuya Joko at Kuya Atom sa nakatatanda naming kapatid. I secretly rolled my eyes at him, dahil sa kaartehan niya ayan at napapansin na nila Mom.

"Nothing, mom. Nothing." matigas na tugon ni Kuya ngunit sakin naman nakatingin.

I'm really irrritated with Kuya's obsession about it but at least I'm thankful now that he learned when to shut his mouth. Mom gullibly nodded but she still has this skeptical look on her face.

"Joko, how's your work? I haven't been seeing Naomi these days, how is she?" nagpasalamat ako sa panginoon nang mailipat ang topic kay Kuya Joko.

Kuya Joko stopped for a moment and put down his utensils, he's wearing a plain black shirt, kitang-kita ko ang sleeve tattoo sa kanyang isang braso.

For now, I completely ignored Kuya Evan or let's say I tried to imagine that he's not existing in this lifetime and I focused on Kuya Joko. Ate Naomi is his long time girlfriend, pero tama si Mom na hindi na ito masyadong nabibisita sa bahay.

Unless... something's off with them.

"She's.. she's busy with work, Mom. You know how hard it is to manage your own business." sagot naman ni Kuya na nakatungo at nasa pagkain ang paningin.

Like what I've mentioned before, lahat sila ay masasaya ang buhay pag-ibig, ako lang talaga ang hindi gustuhin kahit gaano pa ako ka-fresh at kaganda.

Before, I really thought that people will like you based on your physical aspects or appearance, the main reason why I focused on glowing up. It's not a bad decision, though. Mas matimbang man ang inner beauty sa iilang tao, at the end of the day gandang pisikal pa rin ang mananaig.

Girls like good looking guys despite how bad their attitude is or no matter how they treat other people. Boys like sexually attractive girls who could satisfy their "needs" better than any other no matter how bad their personality as well. Admit it, physical beauty is what we tend to look at first.

Just like animals. Most people choose dogs or cats with beautiful breeds, of course because they look pleasing to the eyes. Just like how we deal with life, we focused more on the bright side rather than the lows.

"And how about you, Atom? I heard Catalina's going back here, how is she?" bumaling naman ang atensyon ni Mom kay Kuya Atom na mukhang magaan ang araw dahil maaliwalas ang kanyang mukha.

"She's doing great, Mom. And she's gonna be back next month." nabanaag ko ang excitement sa mga mata ni Kuya pagkasabi niya no'n.

Ate Catalina is Kuya Atom's girlfriend, matagal na rin sila at ang alam ko ay nagkakilala sila sa trabaho. She's also inclined into fitness and she's now a successful nutritionist. She studied abroad that's why she wasn't here for years.

Ilang sandali pa ay sinaluhan kami ng bagong dating na sina Ate Jacky bitbit ang dalawa kong pamangkin. Vicky, the kikay one rushed towards her lola while Ate Jacky kissed her husband which is my obsessive brother and passed Vance onto him.

"Good morning, everyone!" masiglang bati ni Ate Jacky sa lahat.

They usually stay with Ate Jacky's family kaya minsan ay wala sila rito. Half of the week ay dito naman sila nag-i-stay sa bahay kaya balanse ang oras na naibibigay nila sa kani-kaniyang pamilya upang makapiling ang mga bulinggit.
