Chapter 11 [Fantasy]

Daddy Blade let me connect my phone to the stereo of his car. Nakasunod ang bodyguards niya bilang convoy sa amin, sinusundan ko ng tingin ito mula sa side mirror.

"Is that your.... type of music?" he asked with lips tied in a purse, curiosity filled his eyes as the music plays. Naka-connect ito sa aking spotify kung kaya't ako ang may kapangyarihang mamili ng tugtog.

"You'll love it.." nakangiti kong tugon sa kanya saka hinintay ang chorus ng kanta. When it hit to that point, I started lipsynching while looking at him.

Sinabayan ko ang kanta ngunit walang boses, bakas naman sa reaksyon niya ang tuwa sa panonood sa akin.

"Damn..." he hissed softly and muttered curses silently. I stopped from lipsynching just to pay enough attention to it.

"A-Anong problema?" kinakabahang tanong ko, nagsimula akong mag-overthink na baka hindi niya nagustuhan ang kanta o baka hindi niya hilig ang mga ganito. Teka, ano nga ba ang hilig niya bukod sa akin?

"Nothing.." he whispered.

But his answer wasn't enough to put me at peace. Nagtatalo ang puso't utak ko, isama ko na rin ang kipay ko na hindi mapakali. We don't really have something to fight about pero sa mga ganitong pagkakataon, it makes me reflect about the things I'm probably oblivious of.

Is he turned off or something?

"I heard you cursed something, may problema ba tayo?" para akong nangangapa sa dilim ngayon. And even though the loud music is still playing in the background, my mind didn't focus on it.

"I cursed because you're too...." his lips animatedly stretched out and became longer. "cute... you're too cute, Harper. And it's not good because I'm driving."

At all, I wasn't expecting that he was thinking of a compliment. He thinks I'm cute?

"Cute lang? Para naman akong aso sa sinabi mo." panunuya ko at humalukipkip pa kunwari. He can actually think of bigger and more wonderful words to give justice to my beauty and that's all he could give me? Cute?

"You know that's not what I— come on, Harper. Are we gonna fight just because I told you you're adorably cute?" I watched how his arms tensed and did some hand movements out of his consciousness.

Napanguso ako, pinipigilan ang umuusbong na ngiti. His driving makes it hard for him to concentrate on me.

"And now you're smiling? Pinaglalaruan mo ba ako, Harper?" agad kong binura ang ngiti sa aking mga labi nang punahin niya iyon.

The chorus played again so I did lipsynch it.

"And now you're singing.. very good.. I was ignored..." aniya na parang tutang nagtatampo dahil hindi ko pinansin.

It's too odd for a man like him bearing this huge and indestructible built to look adorable at the same time. Maybe, I just really didn't expect two exactly opposite things would blend well.

"Cute is an understatement for me." I told him, rather scolding him. Nadidistract lang ako gawa ng linya ng matatabang ugat sa braso niya. Mas nadedepina pa ito dahil sa pagmamaniobra niya ng manibela.
