I remained firm and steady on my seat, letting myself wonder outside the window. I've never had a history of seizure, ever. So it left me all appalled and contemplating about what to do next.

I turned my head to check on my brother but all I see is the apparent frown on his face and the frightening aura embracing him. He's just wearing a black tee-shirt and worn-out jeans but adding the intricacy of his tattoos in black ink, no one would really dare mess with him or dare speak to him at all. I've seen Kuya Evan and Kuya Atom infuriated, but infuriated version of Kuya Joko is in a whole new level.

I didn't dare utter any word or at least made any sound, I even controlled my own breathing. I fixated my eyes to the front, the road seems like forever despite the car's acceleration. I wasn't certain anymore if he wants to get us home faster than the speed of light or if he's practicing his drag racing or both, probably both.

But all I received from him was a glare. Great. He really must have a death wish.

"What?

I know the reason why he's being difficult since the moment we left the infirmary. He's been insisting to drive me to the nearest hospital like what the school nurse advised us but I told him I wasn't ready yet. I'm too exhausted to even do all the tests.

Eventually, he changed to lower gears and the speed slowed down. Since he started the driving, he never spoke to me or probably got tired of arguing with me, in other words. I can't blame him since I know that he's just worried but he shouldn't blame me for not doing the things I wasn't prepared yet.

Silence filled the both of us. No one didn't make any sudden move and he seemed contented not talking to me. But no matter how mad he is at me, I won't let the night end without putting an effort to at least talk some sense into him.

"I didn't know you have a connection with one of my friends." panimula ko para lamang udyukin siyang magsalita. And I know it was effective when he stared daggers and raised a brow at me.

"That's not what we should be talking about." madiin niyang tugon. Pinantayan ko ang kanyang mapanghamong tingin.

"Why not? It was pretty obvious that you were just one call away." I muttered, provoking the hell out of him even more. It's getting good now, it's better that he's being responsive unlike the silent treatment he was giving me earlier.

"Stop changing the topic, Harper." he sucked on his bottom lip and for one brief moment, he closed his eyes and shook his head.

"It's not even a taboo subject so why not talk about it?" pakikipagtalo ko.

"Because it's not the pressing issue here, for god's sake!" he then sputtered a handful of curses. He buried his face on his hands but after a minute, he looked up at me with a more delicate expression. "You're sick, Harper. And it's a lot better to get checked the earliest as possible before it gets worse. Don't you understand that?"
