"He's right." Yuugo whispered, eyes still closed. "Aren't you happy here? With us?"

I wanted to say that I was. I was truly happy being in this place, with everyone. We were all safe here and I couldn't ask for more. But the things my mom had said still rang in my head. I squeezed his hand gently. "Yuugo, to me, all the cattle children are family." He squeezed it back, chuckling. "I've been lying to you. About not knowing what was at A08-63." He said in a guilty voice. I smiled, relieved he was going to tell me the truth. "I know. So please, tell me why that place makes you so worked up."

He took a deep breath. "I said the same thing four years ago. 'All the cattle children are our family!'" He sarcastically jabbed his fist into the air. "So we went to that place. A small black lake at the entrance of a cave. It was a death trap." A trap? I grimaced. "Two intelligent demons found us and caught us. They held us in their hands, eating our four smallest siblings. Maria, Erica, Damian and Mike." He started to tremble, the corners of his eyes growing wet. "They kept calling for me to help them, y'know. They were screaming so loudly." I wanted to comfort him, but his shadowed expression sadly looked at me. He didn't want my pity. "I passed out. When I woke up, the rest of us were inside a lush green forest, with some strange music playing from all around us. Then they came. The first demon was white, his mask had two great horns and a thin horizontal slit. We ran and ran and ran for as long as we could. When I looked back it was only Lucas, Dina and I left. I watched it grab Dina's hair, pulling her into his spear. She was smiling, even when it pierced through her stomach. Her eyes were saying 'Go! Lucas! Yuugo! Live!' And we tried. A demon with a layered mask and a black cloak and hat took Lucas next. He smiled too, giving me that same look. And I never looked back."

"I can go by myself, or with Emma." I blurted out, trying to make him feel better. I didn't want to put Yuugo through unnecessary trauma. "Hey," He said, gently nudging my cheek. "Look at me, y/n." His voice was gentle. I looked at his warm expression, which made my heart skip a beat. I touched the scar on his left cheek. "Yeah?" I replied. He chuckled, his gaze becoming more and more intense. "I failed to save my family before. I won't stand by this time. I'm coming, no matter what." His determined expression and warm hands made my chest feel hot. "No matter what?" I giggled. "You're not going to get rid of me easily, princess." That hand on my cheek pulled me closer, as his lips grew closer and closer to mine. Is he going to kiss me? I don't think I'd mind... I closed my eyes, ready for impact, but instead felt a soft peck on my cheek. "You're red." He chuckled, smugly. I opened one eye, glaring at his grinning face. "You- You fucking flirt!" I wheezed, pushing him back into bed. He continued to laugh, smiling like it was the funniest thing he'd ever seen. I walked outside and slammed the door behind me, severely embarrassed.

What an idiot! How could he just do that without being embarrassed? What the hell? I touched the cheek gently, opening my bedroom door. I bonked my head onto the wall. "I can't believe he just kissed me like that." I mumbled to myself.

"He kissed you?" Ray hissed, laying on my bed. His glare was colder than usual, a look of hurt and betrayal on his face. Why is he in my fucking room? Didn't he go into his own after that hissy fit before?

Then it hit me. That wasn't my bed. And this wasn't my room. It was Ray's and I hadn't been paying enough attention to notice.
