"You're not weak, y/n."
Norman?
"Yeah, it's Norman. I've missed you so much, y/n."
But- But how? How are you here?
"I'm not. You're imagining me."
Haha, well that makes sense. I can't see anything. Everything is black.
"You're sleeping. This is a dream."
Everything since that day has felt like a dream, Norman. We did it! We left! We brought everyone and we escaped!
"I'm proud of you. But your journey doesn't end here."
I can't go on. I've lost everything. My strength, my body, I can't fight anymore. I can barely stand up.
"Your power will return. Strength will return in time. Aren't you forgetting something?"
"You have us."
Three voices spoke in unison. A warm woman's voice and familiar male's voice joined in with Norman's. James- James Ratri? And my mom?
"That necklace, y/n. I'm always with you. Keep it close. I love you."
Her voice started to fade away, while my consciousness slowly returned. "Ugh," I muttered, pulling myself up. I was in a cozy warm room, the lights flicked off. I glanced at a window. It was night.
My heart skipped a beat, remembering what happened at the golden pool. Ray. Ray's supposed to be here. Ray promised. I jerked my head around, looking for messy black bed head. "Ray..?" I whispered, sliding to one side of the bed. My feet just barely touched the ground, when it rumbled upwards. "Zach!" I screamed, jumping into the sheets. He groggily slid his head on the mattress, burying his face into his arms. "You're awake." His muffled voice said.
Ray... Wasn't here...
"Hey... Zach..." I whispered, shuffling closer to him. "Mhm?" He replied, face still planted in his arm cave. I noticed the vast amount of blankets on the floor, a pillow thrown carelessly to the side. He was shirtless. Scars ran down his arms and back. I couldn't see his chest. "How long have you been waiting?" My eyes widened as he lifted his head suddenly. He was centimeters away from me. I blushed, hoping he didn't notice. He wasn't wearing the striped headband he usually did. "Ever since you passed out." Something weird started to stir inside of me. His eyes were dark brown, shining hazel next to the single lamp lit in the room. His messy black hair was strangely sexy, reminding me of a certain someone. I was lonely. I was missing him. But I didn't know if he was missing me the way I did. I brought my hands to his cheeks, lightly tracing his jawline. "Can I get a number?" He was... Handsome... And reliable... His lips moved slowly. "Three days. You were out three days."
I gulped nervously, he started to move closer. His right hand cupped my cheek, angling my head downwards. "y/n... Can I-?" I stopped him in the middle of his question. I pulled him in, pushing my lips against his. It was a short kiss. "You... Didn't let me finish..." He blushed, covering his mouth. "I didn't have to. I knew." He slid onto the bed, caressing my cheek again. "Then, do you know what I want now?" His gaze was earnest and innocent. Though he showed up looking like that, all he wanted was hugs and kisses. I crawled on his lap, kissing him again. "I think so."
"How did you get so many scars?" I asked, poking his chest. He was ripped. Zach's tanned skin was a perfect six-pack with equally strong arms and legs. I was still sitting comfortably on his lap, after hours of making out. "Living here. For eight years." "Exactly what is this place?" He scratched his head. "Another farm. But it's not as civil as a premium like Grace Field. Goldy Pond... Is a hunting ground." What? A hunting ground? "Like- Like a make your own pizza place?" He nodded, laughing at my choice of words. "The owner of Goldy Pond is a very famous and powerful demon. He makes connections to the premium farms to bring children here. I'm from Grand Valley." "When were you shipped out?" "The day after I turned ten."
I bit my lip. "How did you survive?" He almost laughed, a pained look shadowing over his face. "I was lucky at first. Then I became strong. And four years ago, I made friends. We help each other survive." "Those people downstairs?" I asked, pinching his cheeks. "Mhm." He replied, grabbing my hands. He intertwined our fingers, pulling me into a hug. "Can I ask you some questions?" He asked, muffled in my shoulder. "Why?" I giggled, squeezing him back. His breath tickled. His voice became low and shy. "I want to know you better."
I... Didn't want to get attached...
I was still thinking about Ray... Right?
But he pushed me away... Technically, he's the one who wanted me to think about it... About 'us'...
This boy in front of me... Looking at me with these puppy eyes, like I'm the only thing he ever loved like this... I want to give him a try. I started this, after all.
"Zach..." I whispered in his ear.
"Yeah?"
"Do you... Like me?"
