Aurora's P.O.V
I can't believe it's almost Friday, this week has been crazy! I can barely catch my breath and that's putting it lightly. I don't know how but I just keep having back to back meetings.
"Can I come in?" Justin asks peaking his head through the door. I motion for him to come in not taking my eyes off the rough draft in my hand and he sits down. "I can see you're busy so I'll make this quick, I managed to reschedule your meeting with Peter to next week which means you only have five meetings tomorrow, one of them being with Cassandra. She said there are a few things she wanted to discuss with you, and Ben's assistant called asking if you were free tomorrow, because he'd like a meeting with you. I told him you were fully booked but I figured you would want to see him so I scheduled it for Saturday, at his office. It's the only one you have on Saturday so your weekend is basically clear." I tear my eyes away from the page, looking at Justin.
"Did he say why?" I ask but he shakes his head so I nod. "Thank you Justin, you're a life saver."
"That's my job. Oh and I made sure to have Amira call you an hour before the meeting so you can get ready, his office is twenty minutes away from your place." He says leaving and I carry on working. I buzz Amira into my office.
"Yes Miss Anderson."
"Take a seat Amira." She does. "I need you to take these final drafts to copyediting, tell them to go through the changes I made and apply them. I really want these printed out close to Christmas, I also want to review the book covers the design team has come up with so far. I gave them an idea of what these books are going to be about so I'm expecting them to have something for me."
"Okay, I'm on it." She says jolting down everything I say.
"Thank you Amira." A while after she leaves I check the time and start getting ready to go to my next meeting.
"Just two more Aurora, keep it together." I say trying to console myself.
Spencer's P.O .V
"What?! But I told you to make her an offer she could not refuse so tell me what the fuck happened." I yell into my phone and Kim gives me a knowing look.
"No business at the table." She calmly warns .
"But-" I try to argue and she shakes her head.
"No business at the table Spencer, I won't say it the third time." Sighing heavily, I hang up the phone and she smiles at me, dishing up breakfast. "Thank you." She kisses me softly.
"Hey."
"Mm." She hums, chewing on her oatmeal.
"Did you know that Aurora was going to work with Ben Jefferson?" I ask Kim and her eyes look away. "Ohh, and you didn't tell me did you."
"You know I couldn't tell you even if I wanted to and I did want to but, that would be disclosing private information about Aurora's business." She says knowingly.
"Yeah but you knew I wanted to work with her."
"You knew she didn't want to do business with you and I told you she would say no, but you didn't listen to me. Which in the end, made her despise you even more. How that's even possible, I still don't know." I can tell she's holding back a laugh and I can't help but smile.
"I don't even know why she doesn't like me." I say frustrated.
"Look-" She scoots closer to me, putting her hand on mine, "Don't take it personal, Aurora doesn't like most of the male species and she has emotional scarring as her reason. She just needs to see the you that I have come to adore, the kind and beautiful man I know you are. You just have to understand that that takes time." As always, she's right.
"You're right, I'm sorry I didn't listen to you."
"Give her time, she'll warm up to you eventually." Lightly laughing, we continue eating breakfast then get ready to go out. "Are you still not going to tell me where we're going?" She pries and I shake my head. "Tie this for me please."
"This dress looks beautiful on you." I kiss her exposed back.
"You think everything looks good on me, especially nudity." Laughing, I dip her and kiss her softly, she smiles against my lips.
"That's because you bring beauty to everything you touch, I never believed in magic till I met you." She might take my words as a joke but they couldn't be any truer, before Kim I used to be a typical dick, sleeping with any girl who fell at my feet and leaving a trail of tears when I was done. When I met Kim I thought the same thing would happen but it didn't, she challenged me, her beauty is as sharp as her mind and before I knew it, I was falling for her. I still am and I don't take a moment for granted. "Ready?"
"Yes." She says putting on her shoes, extending my hand to her she takes it then stands up, and we head out.
"Turn around." I command and she does, smiling. I wrap the silk blindfold around her eyes and she touches it.
"Oh?"
"Yes." I growl and she moans when she feels my hand rest on her exposed thigh. Finally arriving, I go around and open her door, helping her out. "Take one step at a time, I've got you." I assure her. Removing the blindfold she gasps when she sees the lit candles and rose pedals on the floor leading to a big yacht. "I'll hold your shoes." I say going down on bended knee and sliding them off. We walk down the path.
"Spencer?" She chokes on my name and tears well in her eyes. "W-What is this?"
"Yours." I say referring to the boat. "You once told me that no man you had ever been with had ever taken you on a boat trip so I bought you one."
"You crazy man! Thank you baby." She says as tears fall down her cheeks.
