Lony's P.O.V

A couple of days ago ....

"Jennie, where did you put the things Mike came in with?" She turns to me, confused.

"I put them in the storage room, on the far right."

"Okay, thank you." Rushing there, when I get in I start feeling overwhelmed by the amount of things in here. But start searching anyways. Mike has officially been discharged, so he's free, but what keeps bothering me is that he still doesn't know who he really is. None of us do so I want to try and help him remember. Finally finding a big brown paper bag with his name on it, I sigh in relief. "Finally." Just then my phone rings, taking it out I instantly smile. "Hey."

"Hey, are you at work?"

"I'm always at work." I chuckle. "Are you keeping tabs on me already?"

"Yes, I want to know where you are at all times." My eyebrows furrow.

"And why is th-?"

"To keep you safe." I softly throw my head back, putting it against the wall. Why is he so good at putting me at ease? "Is that wrong?" I shake my head as if he can see me.

"No, it's comforting."

"Good, I'll pick you up after work."

"Okay, enjoy your day."

"Only when I'm with you Lony." Then he hangs up. Running a hand through my hair I sit on the floor for a while, enveloped in the silence. It wouldn't be smart of me to let my emotions get the better of me, there's a high possibility that he might belong to someone else, someone who loves him very much. Which means I have to prepare myself for anything, but that doesn't mean I can't have hope that maybe, he'll end up with me.

"Lony." Jennie snaps me out of it and I get up. "Are you still looking for his things?"

"No, I found them, I was just thinking."

"About what?"

"The possibility of saying goodbye." I smile sadly.

"Lony, would it be so bad if, for once, you did nothing. For once just be selfish and think about yourself." I instantly turn to her.

"How can you even say that?"

"Because I'm tired of seeing you hurt! God, I'm sick to my stomach Lony! You're always giving a piece of yourself to everyone else and leaving nothing for yourself. You deserve nothing but happiness yet, all you ever get is heartache, it's not fair!"

"Thank you Jennie." I say wiping away her tears. "Thank you for always sticking up for me and catching me whenever I fall but, I can't just sit by and watch him live a life that's not his, that would just be cruel. It's ironic how I have been suppressing my feelings for him ever since he got here and somehow he found a way to let them all out, now I can't control them and he's not making it easy for me either. I have to do the right thing, it's who I am, and the right thing to do is help him find out who he really is. What he chooses after this, is his choice." Walking past her I make my way to the police department.

"Lony!"

"Hey sheriff, how are you doing?"

"Better after you fixed that shoulder problem I had, damn right saved my life." He says chuckling and I shake my head.

"Oh no, all I did was fix you up a little bit."

"You did more than that Lony, I will always be indebted to you." That's good to hear.

"Thank you sheriff, I actually just might need your help." Opening Mike's things I take out his watch. "I was wondering if you could find out where this watch is from."
