Cy's P.O.V

"I hope I didn't come at a bad time." I release a breath.

"Why are you here?"

"Attorney Jefferson informed me that I'd need to be a witness for you, if ever you went public. When I heard I rushed over as fast as I could, I want to be here in case you need me Mike- I mean Cyler?"

"Yes Cyler, but you can call me Cy."

"Cy." She offers a small smile. I release another breath.

"Come in." Walking in, I close the door behind her and lead her to the sitting area.

"I'm sorry to impose." She's hesitant to sit down. "I don't want to make you or Aurora uncomfortable so I won't show my face unless necessary and I'll be staying at a hotel not far from here."

"Aurora isn't here, her and the twins are on a short vacation, I would be too if this wasn't happening."

"Still." She looks down at her hands. "I really don't want to stay too close to you." This mess has caused a lot of people pain and confusion, and Lony is one of them. She's a beautiful and smart woman who deserves better than this, especially with what she's been through.

"I understand and I'm sorry to have roped you into this, after the way we left things I really didn't want to cause you any more pain than I already had. But I can't deny the selfish fact that I need you."

"I knew the risks when I fell for you Cy, and in no way am I blaming you for things ending up this way. It hurts yes but I'm still grateful to have met you, because of you I now know that I can love once again." Her warm smile tints her cheeks and I can't help smiling as well.

"Thank you Lony." I glance at my watch. "It's already late and I don't feel like driving, stay the night then you can leave tomorrow." After some time she agrees.

"Okay, just for tonight." Hearing my phone vibrate I excuse myself.

"I have to take this I'll be right back, make yourself at home, the kitchen is over there." I say before stepping onto the patio.

"Aurora."

"You left without saying a word, is everything okay? Where are you?"

"I'm at the house, sorry I was in a rush and it couldn't wait besides, you were occupied."

"Cy! I-"

"In the next three days news about me being alive will be all over the news."

"What?!"

"I'm working on releasing a statement with everything in order, before the media can beat me to it, then I'm sure it'll be hell from then on. If everything isn't crazier than I'm expecting then I'll try heading back but I'm not making any promises."

"Should I come back too? To help?"

"No, I told you to take this trip seriously, to organise your thoughts and reach a decision so, don't come back. I will do the same-"

"Sorry, Cy, I can't find the cups." Lony says leaning on the door.

"They're in the cupboard above the stove." Nodding, she heads back inside.

"I guess organising your thoughts is a team effort." I sigh.

"Lony came here, on her own accord, after Mr Jefferson told her that she might be needed as a witness to testify. Don't jump to conclusions."

"Will she be staying there?" This is ridiculous.

"You should focus on yourself. I'll call you tomorrow, goodnight." Hanging up, I shove my phone into my pocket. I hate messy but I seem to be tangled in it a lot recently, if only one thing could go according to plan. After Lony and I have dinner we head to bed.
