Aurora's P.O.V

"Hah, that was the last one." I sigh, hanging up the phone. I have been on the phone with my investors all morning, wishing them happy holidays and an early Christmas, and I am exhausted. I need a nice long soak. Filling the tub I add bath salts and rosé peddles before getting in, then sink, till the water is up to my neck. After Cy and I agreed to start over things have gotten less awkward between us and we actually speak to each other now. Finally getting out and feeling relaxed, I wear this beige, floor length body-con dress that I like and gold sandals, then put on a beige LV headband, pushing my hair back. "I look cute"

"Morning Miss."

"Good morning Mary, you already started on preparing breakfast?" I ask entering the kitchen and squeezing the oranges.

"Yes Miss, it'll be ready in ten minutes."

"Have you given any thought to what we discussed?" She sighs and so do I, chuckling as well. "You know, I've never heard of anyone who actually sighs at their boss for wanting to give them time off because of the holidays."

"I'm sorry Miss Aurora if I'm coming off as being difficult but I really don't need any time off. I'm perfectly fine."

"Mary, you've been on the clock for the whole year, through the good times and bad, you should take some time to rest and be with your family. Like I said, I'll still pay you and-" She shakes her head. Oh god.

"I can't let you do that Miss."

"It's my Christmas present to you, are you going to turn down my Christmas present?" Finally caving she agrees. Yes! "Good, I've arranged for a driver to take you home whenever you're ready to leave and come back so don't worry about that." Tearing up I rush to her, comforting her.

"Thank you miss, for taking care of me just as master Cy always has."

"Of course Mary, you're family, and we take care of one of our own." Just then Cy turns the corner.

"Hi."

"Good morning sir." She smiles fondly at him.

"Morning Mary, are you okay?"

"Oh yes sir, I just got a little emotional speaking to miss Aurora, nothing to worry about." When the twins cry Mary excuses herself. "I'll go."

"Thank you Mary." Putting everything on the table, we sit down.

"I heard what you two were talking about before entering the kitchen, was I really a good boss?" I smile. He's been trying to fill in the missing pieces and I'm kind of glad that he's main focus is if he was genuinely a good person or not.

"The best, you donated to charities, took on projects that mostly benefited the community and you never undermined or looked down on anyone, no matter who you were."

"And who am I exactly?" This question again. "I can't fill in the blanks if you refuse to give me the pieces, you know."

"And I'm not trying to, I just don't want to burden you with the weight that comes with knowing who you are, what you've been through, what you've done-"

"What have I done?" Even though Cy is a great man, he's still done things that I'm sure he's not proud of. How do I tell him? "Aurora."

"I can't fill in all the blanks but I'll tell you everything that I know, and if I call a really close friend of yours would you be open to seeing him?" He nods. "Okay, I'll give him a call." Getting my phone I call Ben and ask him to come by the house and he agrees. "Our story isn't the prettiest but, it's the most powerful one I know. It started when we were 9 years old, I met you at ...." As I begin telling Cy our story I can't help the nervous feeling creeping up on me, I'm going to be fully honest and I hope this is the right choice.
