Cy's P.O.V
"No! That's not the colour I wanted, you better fix it before I come down there myself." I look at her then look away. I don't know it this is how mood swings work but Aurora's been crankier than usual. She's been working with Axel, an interior designer, to get the new house ready so we can move in, I offered to help but she said she could handle it although I'm starting to think that that's not true. She's pregnant, has her work to focus on and now this, she's doing too much.
"You're yelling again." I point out and she glares at me. She might be overworked but god damn that little attitude, it's gonna make me snap.
"What?" Sitting up straight I look at her.
"Come again?" My tone changes and she looks away, cheeks turning crimson. That's what I thought.
"I'm sorry, I'm just a little-" She stops and looks at me, I told her it would be too much. "Never mind." I smirk.
"I'm not going to say I told you so, so you can freely admit that I was right." When she scrunches up her face I can't help but chuckle. Walking to her I hold her in my arms and she eases into me. "The doctor said no stress Aurora."
"I know, I just want our new home to be homey before the baby gets here."
"I hear you but when you overwork yourself you not only stress me out but your body too. Your health comes first, remember."
"Yes."
"Good, you need to pick one. The house or work, you can't do both."
"But-"
"I'm not going to repeat myself Aurora." You can tell she wants to say something but she wouldn't dare, I'll give that ass a spanking.
"Okay okay, I'll leave everything to Axel and focus on work for now." I don't say anything as I type an email I need to send out, after she leaves I sigh. She's trying too hard. Picking up the phone I call my mother.
"Cy! I'm so happy you called." She sounds good, better.
"Mom, I need a favour.."
Aurora's P.O.V
Kim: I mean he is right.
Aurora: Who's side are you on here?!
Kim: Don't you feel tired, drained, overworked and overwhelmed?
—— silence ——
Kim: I'll take your silence as a yes, so you see he's right. You always do too much and usually we all let you because we understand your drive but this time it's not just about you. You can't pull all nighters anymore, where you hardly eat or sleep, you need to think about the baby first because it's health relies on your health.
Aurora: I hear you. Ugh! I hate when he's right.
Kim: (laughs) But you have to admire the man, I mean after he heard you didn't get Malcolm he made one call and was able to get you Axel Vervoordt. He's the best in the business! He even worked with Kim Kardashian herself.
Aurora: Yeah, he really is amazing isn't he. Oh babe, I gotta go, I forgot I have a meeting in 10.
Kim: K, love you.
Hanging up the phone I rush to the bathroom and make myself look presentable then go to the garden to have my meeting there, how could I forget something so important? After the meeting I fix myself something to eat before my next meeting.
"Angel."
"Yes?"
"I'm stepping out for a bit but I'll be back soon okay?"
