Aurora's P.O.V

"I thought we were going to a ball?" I ask confused as he leads me to the plane.

"We are. The ball is being held in Tahiti." We walk up the stairs and he guides me to my seat, opposite his. The captain informs us we will be taking off soon.

"I'm sorry Aurora." He breaks the silence and I look at him for the first time since we got out of the car. His eyes show regret and sincerity.

"It's okay Cy, I forgive you." I offer him a small smile and he smirks. "Can you tell me more about this ball?" I ask and he nods.

"It's basically a fundraiser ball where people all around the world come together and donate money." Sounds simple enough.

"All around the world? Is the ballroom big enough to host such an event?" He lightly laughs.

"It'll suffice." After a while the plane finally lands and we make our way to the car waiting for us at the airport, entering I see a box on the seat and open it. There are two masks inside and I assume the lace mask to be mine and the silk one to be Cy's. "We're here." He says and I look up.

"Oh wow." I gasp seeing the venue and Cy was right, this is quite a large ballroom, I see all kinds of expensive cars parked outside the entrance as well, Cy opens the box handing me my mask. I put it on and so does he. "It seems as though a lot of people have already arrived. Are we late?"

"No angel." The door opens and he gets out, helping me as well. I straighten my dress and wrap my arm around his, we make our way inside. From the red carpet to the golden doors I am stunned, this place is beautiful. Hearing the multiple voices as we get closer we enter the ballroom and slowly everyone quiets down, looking at us. I feel my nerves beginning to get the better of me so I cling to Cy just a little tighter and lightly breathe.

"There is nothing to worry about Aura, I'm right here." He whispers to me, I try not to look around at everyone staring but I can't help myself when they start to whisper.

"Who is that?"

"Flavour of the month maybe."

"Probably one of his bimbos."

"That dress does not do her body any favours."

"I have never seen him with a woman, what makes her so special?"

"There's nothing special about her, I mean look at her, she screams low maintenance. He can do so much better."

How can they see him even with a mask on?The whispers just keep getting louder and louder, I try not to listen but their words are tearing me up inside. Exactly who is Cy? I look up at Cy to try and calm myself but his face just makes me even more nervous, he looks so intimidating, angry almost. Finally reaching our table, that's in front of the stage, he opens my seat for me and I sit down, he follows then everyone gets back to what they were doing before we entered. I must have been too wrapped up in my own thoughts because it takes Cy shaking my shoulder to hear what he's saying.

"I'm sorry?" I don't know if it's just my imagination but I swear he just got even more irritated than he already was, did I do something wrong?

"I'm going to go discuss business with my associates for a moment, come find me if you need me." He says and I nod yes, I watch him get up and walk away. Breathe Aurora, if you can frighten the wife of a drug dealer then handling this shouldn't be a problem. Looking around I spot a table with glasses of Champaign so I get up and make my way to it then feel a hard push to my shoulder as someone bumps into me.

"You're in my way." She says and I notice it's one of the girls that were saying all those horrible things about me. I give her a side look, looking at her up and down then keep walking. Bitch. Reaching the table I grab a glass and take a sip, Mm this is good. I spot Cy surrounded by a group of men, drinking in every word he's saying and not daring to disturb him, his aura is so dominant. It's so attractive, hey! What am I thinking.
