Being a full time hero wasn't something that interested you. You didn't want to align yourself with any organization because organizations are uniform and you weren't. You didn't want people thinking that they could tell you what to do and when to do it. That being said you couldn't just stand by and let crime run wild through the city.

You had first hand experience of what could mean having grown up in a small crime syndicate. Back then you didn't have a choice, you did what your family wanted you to do. Once you got older and found out that you were different from them, you left. You knew if your family were to find about your heightened senses they would use you to gain control of your hometown.

You left your hometown and moved to Brooklyn in hopes of creating a new life for yourself. A life where you vowed to make up for your past wrongdoings. Still you weren't a hero at most you were a vigilante. The city had taken to calling you Black Snake. Something about wearing black and having really fluid but deadly movements. It was a little strange, you hadn't planned on getting recognition but when you regularly stop crime word gets around.

Today hadn't been a super eventful day you stopped a few muggings and some house robberies but nothing too major. Today instead of being in Brooklyn you had made the trip to Manhattan because you sensed that something really bad was brewing. The city was too quiet and that could only mean a disaster was approaching. Your suspicions were confirmed when you heard collective screams coming from the direction of downtown.

You rushed to the scene and froze as you saw a giant portal with thousands of what  you could only describe as aliens coming into the city and targeting citizens. This was way above your paygrade but you had to do something.

You got to work on trying to buy the citizens enough time to escape. You wasted no time throwing yourself into the action. You were fighting them off as best as you could. Slicing, punch, kicking, shooting, anything to try to lessen the numbers. But as quick as you killed em more were marching out of the portal. You didn't have time to focus on closing the portal in fact you really couldn't focus on anything. You hadn't ever been around this much chaos and you were experiencing sensory overload.

All of your senses were overloading, the smell, the screams, the alien skin, the taste of blood on your lips was threatening to swallow you whole. That didn't matter though, you couldn't stop fighting if the city needed you.

Out of the corner of your eye you saw an alien surrounding two kids. The little girl was standing in front of the boy trying to shield him from the alien. You killed the alien that you were dealing with and bolted towards the two children. This particular alien was huge compared to the others he was at least 8 feet tall at least 350 lb s of pure muscle. The thing could probably crush you in his bare hands but nonetheless you put yourself in between the alien and the kids.

You glanced back at the kids, " Run" the little girl grabbed the boy's hand and dragged him away. The alien tried to follow them but you stepped in its path. It glanced down at you with it's 6 eyes and growled.

" Can't let you do that big fella"

The alien didn't respond, instead it just tried to smack you out of his way. Its movements were slow but it was huge. You could keep dodging it but you would run out of space after awhile. You tried to attack him but nothing you did seemed to affect it. You were running out of options and the alien could tell that. It was beginning to move more sporadically and your dodges were getting slower. It had boxed you in, there was nothing you could do to protect yourself from the next strike.

It had pinned you down to the ground, your head had bounced against the concrete and you felt your ribs begin to crack under the weight of the alien's hand. You knew you weren't supposed to struggle but the panic that ran through your body took control. It was slowly applying more pressure and there was nothing you could do but scream out.
