Things have been tense lately. You knew that your relationship was on the precipice of collapsing. The late nights got later and later. Your girlfriend would come back less of herself each time.

When she wasn't sending herself into oblivion, she was an Avenger. Between her two favorite things to do, you were lost in the shuffle. She never had time anymore, so what was the point in all of this.

You tried to get her to see things your way, hinting at your unhappiness. She thought you were just nitpicking; trying to start fights.

So every time you brought up work or her after work activities, the two of you fought. You were tired of fighting, Natasha. At first, you thought she was worth every fight, but now you weren't so sure.

" Natasha, this is the fourth time this week you've come drunk"

" I'm not drunk," her words were slurred, contradicting themselves.

You took a moment to take in her appearance. Something was off. Her clothes were disheveled. Her lips were slightly swollen.

The scoff that left your lips said it all for you," You cheated on me? After I've put up with whatever the fuck this is for months. Get out"

Natasha tried to defend herself," Y/n-"

You didn't care what she had to say," Get out."

The red-headed woman started to take unsteady steps towards you. When she made it to you, the smell of alcohol made you sick.

" I love you," she leaned forward and tried to kiss you, but you pushed her away.

" No, you don't. I can't even remember the last time you made me feel loved. When was the last time we spent any time together. When was the last time you came home sober. I don't even know who you are any more Natasha. Get out"

She tried to take a seat, but you wouldn't let her. If she was sober, this would've been harder for you. In a normal circumstance, you'd never put your hands on her, but you needed her out.

You pushed her towards the door. She looked at you incredulously," Y/n, stop."

You pushed her again, she stumbled further to the exit of the house.

Anger started to fester in the redhead," We can talk this out"

You rolled your eyes, pushing her again," Now you want to talk? You're ridiculous"

The next time you went to push her, she grabbed your wrists. You froze in fear. The tight grip Natasha had on your wrist was enough to scare you.

" I'm not leaving"

The door was already open. You were so close to it. One more push and she'd be out. Your eyes found her, and you did the only thing you could think of.

Your lips touched hers and her grip on your wrists loosened. You could taste all of the disgusting alcohol she had drunk as she tried to stick her tongue in your mouth.

That's when you pushed her out of the slamming and locking the door behind her.

She banged on the door," Y/N! Open the- open the door, please. Y/n, open the door"

Her voice deflated," Can we not fight anymore, please. Can we not fight anymore"

You sat with your back against the frame frantically calling someone to get Natasha," I know you're scared, I've been there. I can set you free."

An aggressive tone takes over her voice as she bangs against the door once more," Y/n, don't make me come in there. I'm going to count to three. 1...2... Fuck it"

She kicks the door hard. You think it's going to break. She kicks it again, and you're certain you hear the wood splinter.

" Natasha! What the fuck are you doing?" It's Wanda.

Thank god it's Wanda.

" Y/n please," Natasha cried out. You could hear her voice breaking. Your hand reached for the door knob. When you felt the cool material of the doorknob against your skin, you stopped your movements.

" Don't you open that damn door, Y/n," Wanda yelled from the other side.

" Shut up, Wanda. Baby, please. I love you, let me in. I'm sorry, I'll come home to you, I promise. But-but when I do, you can't lock me out, my love," Natasha was begging you.

That's when you remembered why she was outside in the first place. Tears silently flow down your face. You lean your elbows on your knees, then place your head on top of your elbows.

" I can't believe you're going to make me hate you," you whispered it into your hands.

"Natasha, go home," Wanda told her, you could almost see her glowing red eyes.

You hear her shoes crunching against the grass. You heard a car door slam and then drive away.

" Y/n, let me in," you opened the door for the witch.

You jumped into her arms, tears soaking the front of her shirt. She squeezed you tight.

" I'm so sorry, sweetheart. I don't know what's going on with her lately," Wanda rubs soothing circles on your back.

" She cheated on me, Wanda."

" Oh honey," you once again lean against the woman.

You had no idea how your better half spiraled so quickly; How your fairy tale unraveled before your eyes. Natasha was your dream quickly turned into a nightmare.

Nothing she did would fix this moment. No matter how much you wanted to open the door, you knew you could never let her in again.
