An: There's an epilogue in the near future

Just as quickly as the mystery came together, everything was falling apart. Wednesday's plot to trap Tyler backfired. With a father for the sheriff and the help unwilling to do what needed to be done, it was doomed from the start.

When Tyler tried to corner Wednesday at the police station, Y/n got between them. She didn't growl, she just stared at the boy, fire burning intensely in her eyes.

" You can say whatever it is, from there."

His smile was dementedly sweet as he spoke his truth right in front of them. He had revealed what they already knew, Tyler Galpin was the hyde.

When they were done at the station, they were forced back to the Nevermore campus. The principal called for Wednesday and only Wednesday. Y/n didn't want to let her go alone.

" Wednesday, I don't think you should go alone."

" Weems won't hurt me," she says freely.

Y/n sighs," I know but-"

" Besides, I need you to go talk to Xavier, tell him that we're working on getting him out... and that I apologize for not believing him in the first place."

Y/n hated the idea of going to see the boy that she knew was in love with her girlfriend. Yet in this situation it was the right thing to do.

Wednesday gently squeezes Y/n's hand," For me, please."

Y/n nods," Ok."

The girls separated after that. Y/n went back into the city and Wednesday went to the principal's office.

Slipping past the guards was easy for Y/n especially with Thing's help. Xavier heard her steps before he saw her.

" What do you want?"

Y/n here's the attitude in his voice. She can't blame the boy, she knew the feeling of being chained up like an animal. The only difference was that Xavier was no beast.

" We know you're innocent. Tyler is the hyde, I tracked him with my scent and he admitted it. We're going to get you out of this. Wednesday also wanted me to tell you she's sorry."

Xavier scoffs," How is she supposed to fix this? I'm in this whole situation because of her in the first place."

" She made a miscalculation. It was a mist-"

Xavier raises his voice," A miscalculation? I've got a chain around my neck, locked in this cell, while the real monster is still out there. All because your girlfriend is some stupid Sherlock Holmes wannabe."

" She's going to save everyone."

Xavier laughs," It's funny that you think she actually loved you. Your feelings for her are so intense, but we all know she's not wired to feel like that. She's using you, the same way she used me and Tyler. Congrats on being the most valuable to her."

Y/n's eyes start to fill with fire," Wednesday loves me."

Xavier smiles," Of course she does. She loves how useful you are. I mean, how can anyone top turning into a big fire dog made of ashes? I bet every time you changed she loved you a bit more didn't she?"

Y/n grits her teeth," You don't know what you're talking about."

Xavier moves closer to the bars," How does it feel to be a pawn in Wednesday's game of chest?"

Y/n can't resist herself as she slams her fist against the bars," If it were up to me. In this very moment, I'd let you rot in here forever. I'd burst out of this jail, find Tyler, kill him myself, dump the body, and continue to let everyone think you're the hyde. But my selfish and manipulative girlfriend doesn't want that from me. She wants me to play nice with you, and I'm trying my best, but Jesus Christ you're making this so hard."
