Eugene wasn't dead. That's the part of the message that Y/n and Wednesday tried to focus on. It was a miracle that the boy survived, but hearing that he was in a coma was hard. Especially on Wednesday, she went to visit him as much as she could. Y/n offered to accompany her, but she said that she needed to do this on her own. It was the only time the two spent apart, that wasn't due to class.

Y/n thought they would be safe from unwanted drama during parent weekend, but she was mistaken. The violinist knew very little about the tensions between Wednesday and her family. The girl's knowledge of Wednesday's parents was the legacy they left behind at Nevermore.

Y/n stood with Enid and Wednesday as principal Weems gave a speech to the students and parents alike. Once she had concluded, every student dispersed to find their parents.

" Let's get this over with," Enid sighs, before going to find her family.

Wednesday was about to do the same, but Y/n stopped her momentarily," If things don't go too well, you can come find me."

" I wouldn't want to interrupt your time with your mother. I'm fully capable of-"

Y/n squeezes the girl's hand," Mon cher, I know you can handle it on your own, but I would like to help. Together, remember?"

Wednesday's features soften, in the way they only do for Y/n," I will keep that in mind."

Wednesday squeezes her lover's hand once more before fully releasing it, and walking over to her family. Her mother, brother, and father all had their eyes on Y/n. It was a little intimidating, but Wednesday was quick to tear their attention away from the girl.

" Someone special?"

Y/n's smile grew at the sound of her mother's voice. She ignored the question for the time being and wrapped her arms around the short woman.

" It's good to see you, too, kiddo. How've you been?"

" Well-"

" I am terribly sorry to interrupt, but it is imperative that I see you in my office. So we can discuss a few things about your daughter this semester," principal Weems makes herself present.

Y/n's mother looks at the girl curiously before they both follow principal Weems up to her office. When they arrive, Wednesday and her parents are already in the office.

" Well, this is going to be interesting, isn't it?" Y/n's speaks lowly so that only Wednesday can hear.

" I'd hope so. You know I hate the mundane," Wednesday has that unbothered look in her eyes.

Y/n watches as Morticia and principal Weems go back and forth about their school days. Charisma drips at the end of every word that Morticia says. She seems to understand where her girlfriend gets her presence from.

She tunes out the conversation until it turn to the topic of Wednesday and, subsequently, herself. Principal Weems puts it in light terms as she talks about Wednesday's assimilation to the school.

The girl standing next to her steps forward to dispute the claims," Because I refuse to embrace the culture of dishonesty and denial permeating this school. Starting with the monster that killed Rowan and put Eugene in the ICU. Although I do hear he is on the mend."

" I'm sorry, but what does this have to do with my kid?" Y/n's mother interrupts, gaining the collective attention of everyone in the room.

Weems smiles at her," Well, you see, your daughter and Wednesday are quite... close. They tend to wind up in these situations together."
