Marley Rose was the perfect girl. Jake knew it, Ryder knew it, and Y/n knew it.

Y/n was the newest member of the glee club and therefore in last place in the " I want Marley" race. 

That didn't deter the Y/n in the slightest. She knew that slow and steady would always win the race. Especially when going against Ryder and Jake.

However Y/n let those thoughts leave her as today was sectionals. She didn't have a solo or anything but this had to be the hardest performance in New Directions history.

The dance itself was super fucking hard plus trying to sing in a different language, it was going to be impossible.

Y/n was preparing herself when she saw Marley looking ill. She was going to try to check on her but Jake beat her to it.

Instead of abandoning the idea entirely she decided to wait until he left.

" Are you alright Marley?" 

She sent Y/n a small smile," I'm fine just a little nervous."

" I think we all can be a bit nervous but you look like you're going to pass out. Are you sure you're ok?"

Marley frowned at the concern in Y/n's voice. " I haven't been sleeping and I feel like crap. I just don't want the reason we lose to be because of me."

" No one's going to tell you this but you are the star of this team Marley. You are basically the new Rachel Berry meaning you'd be the last reason we'd lose. Now drink some water, go out there, and kick some ass."

This time a real smile graced Marley's face," Thanks Y/n you're the best." The brunette wrapped her arms around you in a quick hug before making her way to the stage.

Skip To The Performance 

Everything was going fine, the crowd was loving it. However Y/n couldn't help but keep her eyes on Marley. The girl looked sluggish like she was going to collapse any minute.

When Y/n saw Marley's eyes glaze over she abandoned the routine immediately. She had caught Marley right before the girl hit the ground.

" Marley?" Y/n yelled her name but she got no response. She was the one to carry the girl off stage with the other New Directions following.

" What happened?" Tina asked as the rushed into an empty classroom.

" She passed out," Y/n had sat the girl up right as she started to stir in her arms.

" That's because that cheerio bitch was giving her laxatives," Santana spoke up but Y/n just ignored the Latina.

Marley was her main priority," Someone bring me a water and any type of food."

" Y/n?" Marley whispered with her hand firmly on her head.

" You're okay, just eat this and drink this." Marley shook her head," I'm not hungry."

Y/n looked at the girl in disbelief," You passed out during sectionals your body is starving now eat."

" Ya she's starving all right because blondie over there is telling her not to eat and feeding her laxatives," this time Y/n did glance at Kitty as Santana called her out.

The blonde had a guilty look on her face and this made Y/n angry.  She got right into Kitty's face but the Cheerio didn't back down.

" You think is some kind of game Kitty? I know you're jealous of her but trying to give her an eating disorder isn't funny. This isn't a game it's her life and this could do seriously damage her."

Kitty didn't falter," I didn't make her do anything. It's probably her whale of a mom that gave her the idea anyway."

Y/n was steaming at this point. Her face was red and her fists were clenched. She was so angry that she couldn't stop herself from throwing a punch at the girl.

Y/n and Kitty were in a full out brawl. Y/n would not release the girl from her hold. Santana and Finn had to hold Y/n back as Ryder and Jake held Kitty.

" I'M FROM LIMA HEIGHTS ADJACENT BITCH. I'M NOT THE ONE TO BE PLAYING WITH." Y/n screamed as she was dragged out of the room by the two former glee kids.

" I knew I liked this one," Santana said to no one in particular.

Finn was going to start scolding Y/n but Santana had told him she had it handled.

" So you're from Lima Heights Adjacent?"

Y/n nodded at the woman," Me too and I feel like I know why you went all wild on that bitch. You like Marley."

Y/n let out a deep breath," I mean how could I not like her. She's pretty, smart, funny, and she's got a bigger heart than anyone I know."

Santana can't help but let out a chuckle," I thought those same things about Brit. You need to tell her how you feel."

" I can't she's already between Ryder and Jake. If I add myself to that aren't I being an asshole?" Y/n found herself slouching against the wall.

" Look you care about her and sometimes that's enough. Ryder and Jake were not reacting like you did. Everyone in glee club saw how much you cared about her tonight. So you might as well tell her."

Y/n went to reply but then most of the New Directions stormed out of the classroom. They looked excrptionally pissed.

" What happened?" The glee veteran asked. Jake was the one to answer her " Because we left the competition we lost, " he paused for a second before turning to Y/n," Marley's asking for you in there."

With a little loving push from Santana, Y/n was in the classroom. Marley was sat alone with unable to stop herself from sobbing. Y/n was hesitant but she still took a seat next to her.

Marley laid her head on Y/n's shoulder which made Y/n put her arm around her.

" We lost because of me."

Y/n squeeze the brunette's shoulder," It was Kitty's fault that you passed out. If they're mad at anyone it should be her."

Marley went to defend the blonde but the glare that Y/n gave her, advised her against it.

" You're perfect you know that? Your body is perfect because it matches your soul. Gaining weight or losing weight won't change that Marley. I know your mom is overweight but you aren't her."

Marley scoffed at her," I'm far from perfect Y/n." Y/n just shook her head ," Not to me."

Marley was staring at Y/n. She didn't catch herself slowly leaning in until her lips had touched Y/n's.

Y/n was shocked but she kissed back gently. When Marley broke the kiss her cheeks were as red as a solo cup.

" You kissed me" Y/n whispered mostly to herself. Marley smiled widely," I did."

" Do it again"

Marley leaned in and pecked Y/n's lips once again. This time a little longer and with a little more passion.

" Y/n whatever this feeling is I have with you, I don't want it to end. You make me feel safe."

Y/n blushed but grabbed Marley's hand," As long as you're here I promise it won't but you've gotta be here. You can't go around fainting on me."

" I know, I'll get help." Y/n kissed their intertwined hands," You aren't alone in this. I'm not going anywhere no matter what you look like Marley Rose."

Marley smiles brightly," You're the best thing to happen to me Y/n L/n"
