Knowledge is seemingly infinite. Though one can claim to know a lot, they will never know everything. It is fair to say that we all have shared knowledge of things. Though, we may address those things differently. For example, one might call the things that people wear on their feet tennis shoes, while another might call them sneakers. Regardless of the name, the item is known to both.
There may be exemptions to this. Barriers set up by customs that make the deciphering of items more complex. For example, when you arrived on Earth, many things were foreign to you. The few things that weren't, were called by names you'd never heard of.
Trying to get humans to understand your barrier was a nearly impossible task. The majority of them wrote you off as crazy.
It wasn't until you came in contact with Nick Fury, that your perception of Earth expanded.
The attention you had garnered, simply by existing on Earth for a couple of months, had gotten Shield's attention. You followed Nick Fury, almost blindly. There was not an abundance of choices for you as an outsider, and this seemed like the best option.
Nick Fury basically threw you into the Avengers Tower. It was there that you started to really experience Earth.
The team became like a family to you. Your aloof nature accompanied by your unending curiosity made the group protective over you. Though technically you were more advanced than they were, simple things escaped you.
" Can I have the... um? The transparent liquid. I'm low on hydrogen," you ask Wanda, who is standing by a case of the substance you speak of.
She grabs a bottle of it and smiles before handing it to you," Here's your water. I'm glad you're keeping yourself hydrated."
" Have you eaten today, Y/n?" Natasha questions as she enters the kitchen
Your eyebrows scrunch together," I had a fruit. The small one that has to shed its skin before you eat it."
" Only an orange? I'll make you something."
Natasha and Wanda were the people who helped you learn the most. They both had a lot of patience when it came to you.
When other members of the team would joke about your level of understanding of Earth, they'd always come to your defense.
You were appreciative of their kindness. So much so that whenever you were around them, you'd get this tingly feeling in your stomach. Whatever was made it nearly impossible not to smile. It was a feeling unlike anything you'd felt before.
" Tomato soup and grilled cheese; An American classic," Natasha sat the food down in front of you.
You examined the plate before picking up one of the triangular slices.
" You dip it in the soup, malyshka," Wanda informed you.
You dipped the sandwich into the soup, before taking a bite. As the taste spread across your tongue, you couldn't help but close your eyes. How could something so plain be so overwhelmingly delicious?
" You like it?"
You nod vigorously," It's really... I don't know the word yet, but whatever is better than delicious. It is better than delicious. Thank you."
You devoured the soup and sandwich. Wanda couldn't help but giggle at how quickly you had finished the food.
When you turned to look at her, she laughed even more, causing you to frown slightly.
" You've got a little something on your face, sweetheart," she says, and you feel your face heat up.
You go to wipe it with your sleeve, but she stops you. With one hand on your sleeve, she grabs a paper towel in the other. She gently wipes an embarrassing amount of tomato soup from your face.
